              TIBCO Enterprise Service Software ( EMS, BW and Adapters)



Strong Unix Skills ( scripting, Admin ) in AIX , HP_UX  And Linux ( RedHat
and SUSE)



*Position Summary
*System Administrator is responsible for Systems Messaging and
administration, monitoring system performance and capacity; maintenance
tuning and root cause analysis of QVC’s Messaging and Integration
technology.  Works on projects and supports the IT infrastructure and may
be part of on-call rotation for 24x7 support.  As part of a project team,
is the Messaging and/or Integration technical lead on projects.  Assists
with Messaging and /or Integration related selection and costs, working
with other teams to setup and configure the hardware, supporting our
application team with projects, providing support post-project, writing
documentation and training appropriate support personnel.  Provides root
cause analysis of escalated and complex incident reports.   Receives
general supervision and guidance from their manager, able to work with
little supervision.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
• Monitor the current configuration and performance of Messaging and/or
Integration hardware/software to guarantee the utmost availability (7x24)
of our messaging systems.
• Works on projects, completing required tasks, and meeting deadlines as
assigned.
• Execute any required configuration changes and customizations required to
support changes in application or operating environment, including software
changes and additions.
• Assist in the tuning and debugging of Messaging and /pr Integration
processes recommending any throughput improvements required
• Resolve escalated and complex incident reports, and provides root cause
analysis for incident reports, providing descriptive and timely updates for
all assigned incidents to appropriate management staff.
• Evaluate and test Messaging and/or Integration software tools and
hardware.
• Manipulate performance metrics and support processes to generate data as
input to the Performance and Capacity reports.
• Documents standards and operating procedures for QVC Messaging and/or
Integration systems and acts as a technical resource to the IT staff and
system users.  Provides training and documentation to support personnel on
projects to complete turnover to production, and provides knowledge
transfer to various departments.
• Provides support to Operations and Production Control for problems and
questions.  Interface with Operations personnel in implementing actions
required to fix any situation that may compromise systems availability.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, implementation and testing.
• Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

*Qualifications & Requirements*
Specific Job Knowledge
• Experience with the TIBCO Enterprise Integration suite of software and
tools, specifically in the area of EMS, Business Works and Adapter
Configurations
• Experience with the IBM MQ, Message Broker and WebSphere Messaging
Software and tools
• Knowledge of Client Server, Mainframe, and UNIX server technologies.
• Understands business processes as they pertain to the IT infrastructure.
• Desire to learn and train for problem resolution on various computing
platform environments.
• Good consultative skills.
• Ability to work effectively with other systems technical staff,
consultants and vendors.
• Proven track record of coordinating multiple server projects, which
involve interaction with other systems and departments.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Solid organization, communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with technical documentation, and ability to train support
personnel.

*Qualifications
*• Bachelors’ degree required in Computer Science, Information Science or
related field of study, or equivalent years experience.
Experience:
• 3 – 5 years recent experience working in a large corporate environment
installing, monitoring and troubleshooting servers and applications running
in a multi-tier environment.  At least 2 years systems administration
experience.
• General programming or scripting experience.
• Project management experience desired.
