*Description*
As a Java UI Developer, your Java and UNIX technology skills to help build
a user interface that drives our big data ETL system that is used to
dynamically onboard files from our partners into the core business
database. You will be actively involved in contributing to all aspects of
the application development lifecycle from understanding requirements, to
setting technical direction, through delivering innovative products to the
marketplace.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
- Design and develop Java software to describe file formats and data
mappings to our ETL processes used to load into our Hadoop cluster
- Design and develop application features with the goals of maximizing
performance, scalability, maintainability, quality, and extensibility
- Develop code using established programming methodologies
- Use your experience and creativity to find new ways to solve business
problems
- Work with development team to teach and learn best practices through
code reviews and collaboration
- Engage in Agile team practices such as backlog grooming, release
planning, sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, and working towards
incremental value producing feature construction
- Document code and processes clearly
- Develop unit tests and quality assurance procedures
- Ensure data integrity and quality
*QUALIFICATIONS *
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Java full stack application development experience
- Comfortable working in both Windows and Unix (Linux) environments
- High energy, motivated self-starter with ability to take direction and
manage tasks with minimal supervision within an energized, collaborative
and entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and listening skills
- Innovative and creative, able to champion new ideas and initiatives
with attention to detail
- Flexible and resourceful
*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
- BA or BS in Computer Science or related degree
- 3+ years overall development experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in highly dynamic changing environment
- Demonstrates strong motivation
- Familiarity with digital advertising practices and audience targeting
preferred
