Project Scope
Data Center Life Cycle Management (304604)
•Migrate & Consolidate virtual & physical LPARs to newer and fewer managed
systems
•Improve resiliency of VIO environment
•Upgrade p-Series firmware
Data Center Portfolio Support (304598)
•Manage Hardware Installs
•Configure LPAR and VIO Profiles to support other portfolio projects
Skill
•Advanced knowledge of IBM p-Series hardware (Power 6, 7, & 8); Power 6 and
7 are absolute Requirement
•Advanced knowledge of IBM p-Series Hardware Management Console (HMC)
operations
•Advanced knowledge of AIX running on IBM p-Series
•Experience working with business partners to negotiate outages and
documenting execution procedures.
•Experience defining and configuring LPARs and VIOs
•Experience using Live Partition Mobility
•Experience troubleshooting hardware and I/O issues in p-Series
•Experience working in a data center environment
•Working knowledge of TCP/IP Stack and SAN Storage
•Knowledge of NIM Server would be nice to have
