From the reading that I have done, there is only one virus that has ever
been detected and documented to hit Linux. The file system of Linux makes
it just about impossible for a virus to function. Example is the I Love you
virus that went out yesterday. I mainly targeted MS OS, but it would
I have sort of the same issue. I did access the RPM files and reinstall it.
They put the compiler in the /usr/ area. You will see a subdir for i586,
i486, and i386. My problem, even after installing the RPM files, I still
get the "gcc c complier can not make executable." error message. Even
f it comes back
as
installed or still "missing".
