logs with request-id and request header generated at your end.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would 
request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are 
using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to 
enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging 
via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct 
private reply to this email.

I could see that the campaign: 20717377421 has status 'Removed', this is the 
reason you are facing an error. Please note that it is not possible to perform 
any mutate operation on the removed campaigns. Hope this helps.

Hello!
I'm trying integrate with Google Ads to manage client accounts. I create a 
Administrator account in Google Ads, i create an app in Google console to 
use OAuth2. The whole flow seems correct to me. The client enters my 
system, connects the Google account and gives permission to manage the 
Google Ads accounts, selects which account he wants to manage and then he 
would create and manage the campaigns. But when trying to create a budget 
in the test account I created, I receive the following error:

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Kindly note that there was a recent blog post released about the Image and 
Location Auto-migration in August 2023. The migrations occur at the account 
level. During the migration of an account, which will take several minutes, you 
won’t be able to execute any image or location mutations of either extensions 
or assets. This may be the reason why you can't proceed with your mutation. 
However, when the migration is complete, you will have access to the assets. 
You may check the mentioned blog post here

 for more information.

But when we created the feed for customer 6526338068 by using the same

I am currently getting an error trying to run the unchanged Python demo for 
`add_campaigns.py`, specifically in line 49 when trying to specify the 
campaign budget.

Could this be related to trying to use the wrong type of account (i.e. 
manager account vs. client account)? Or to insufficient funds being 
allocated to the account?

I am totaly newbe on Google Ads API...
The first 2 weeks sped time to configurations of my app that finaly can get 
the API call without errors... just accout infos ;-) but for my big success.

the next step I try to create compaing but I got

request using MCC account, then this is the reason why the 
OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT error occurred..

For USER_PERMISSION_DENIED, this error occurs when the authorized customer does 
not have access to the operating customer. You may check this guide for further 
details to the said error.

the complete request and response logs with request ID that my colleague Ernie 
earlier requested.

That said, and since it appears that you are using Ruby, you can first enable 
logging by referring to this guide. Once enabled, you may retry your request 
and provide to our team the generated logs as these would greatly help us in 
troubleshooting the API error you are encountering.

Furthermore, I would highly recommend that you send the requested information 
via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you 
may send the details directly to our googleadsapi-supp...@google.com alias 
instead.

yes, I have followed all the steps you mention before and as I mention 
in the previous message, I was able to make the API work after I 
accepted the invitation to the client account I myself created a few 
moments before.


My concern is: Do I have to be explicitly invited to all client accounts 
I need to work with via the API, even though my Manager Account can 
already work with their data in the ads administration? Or will I have 
access through the manager account?

Never mind, I just accepted an invitation to a client account (under the 
same e-mail address that the Manager Account is under) and everything 
(or basic get/add campaign operations) started working.


Not that this is super clear behaviour, but OK. Is there a clearer, more

Also thanks for the clarification, I expected something along these lines.

I still don't understand why I wouldn't have permissions to access 
customers I created myself 5 minutes ago. The USER_PERMISSION_DENIED i 
get is when I use --customerId parameter 7930612705.


Do I assume correctly that I should be able to query customers I am able 
to see/change in the administration?


Or is it necessary to additionally set up permissions somewhere?

OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT with PHP examples AddCampaigns.php

Hello,

I keep getting the error above on adding a budget when using PHP example 
code from https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-php 
(examples/BasicOperations/AddCampaigns.php) . I do have a test account and 
the only thing I changed in the code was the account ID.

Various GET operations are running OK, although the result is mostly empty 
as the account is new.

Do I have to set additional permissions somehow? I find the documentation 
not quite aligning with reality in places.

I am using the ID of my test account. Do I have to create a customer 
sub-account and use that for testing the API? When I try that, the only 
error I get is USER_PERMISSION_DENIED.

This time, rather than making you start a new thread, I'll just answer. Thank 
you for providing the logs with the error. That makes it much easier for me to 
explain what's going on. For this campaign type, this is working as intended. 
You cannot add a campaign criterion with a user list to this campaign type. Let 
me break down the error to show you.

The operation is not allowed for the given context. This means that sometimes 
the operation may work for some configurations, but for your particular 
configuration, it will not work.
trigger {  string_value: "DISPLAY(DISPLAY_FULL_AUTOMATION)"} This is telling 
you that the campaign type is of type DISPLAY with the subtype of the campaign 
being DISPLAY_FULL_AUTOMATION. When something is full automation, usually you 
cannot control the specifics of how the campaign runs. All the choices are 
automated, and the choices are made for you by the campaign, since the campaign 
is automated.
location {  field_path_elements {field_name: "operations"index: 0  }  
field_path_elements {field_name: "create"  }  field_path_elements {
field_name: "user_list"  }} This is telling you that the item you can't add is 
the user list.

Putting all these pieces of the error together, this is saying that you can't 
add a campaign criterion with a user list to a campaign of type DISPLAY 
(DISPLAY_FULL_AUTOMATION). Google Ads does not allow this based on the current 
configuration. However, you can do this for other campaign types.
