I have the same problem with a nvidia card (7300 LE), the problem is the same but instead of a black screen I get a white one. If I disable desktop efects from both user it works fine otherwise not. Even though a white screen shows when switching users you can type your password and enter and you will be able to login, but it is not what all we want, is it? I hope my version of the problem can help solving the entire problem. The monitor is LG Flatron L1752TQ 17 inches, but I sad before that none of the distros I have tried worked, but it is not true anymore, mandriva was the only one that worked. Has someone a tip for updating an application, a multiplatform one would be great, in another post I asked about configuration and receiveid a lot of good answers including NINI configuration library, now I'd like to ask for a manner of updating an application or it's libraries, click once is nice but it has limitations: It seems to download the whole application when it updates, when it should download only the dll or exe that has changed... It install in a cache under user's application data... It breaks your configuration files or reset them as we update, specially when the source host changes... If you want to use the same application with many users you will have to install for each one... As far as I know it is not supported in mono yet (it is not a limitation as I am not planning to use it anymore)... What is the best way for multi-platform configuration? IMHO application settings from framework 2.0 is the best way to save application specific settings, but it does not seem to work in latest mono, on the other hand we have gconf which is much better than windows registry (IMHO) and works great on linux with minimum amount of code, knowing this situation I ask more and again: 1 - What is the best way for multi-platform configuration? 2 - Is gconf configuration system available on windows, or planned to be? 3 - Am I right to say that configuration settings from framework 2.0 does not work on mono, that is, it surely works and I am doing something wrong? (Lets explain this one, I can read values but not write them, when writing the application does not crash o warn anything but writes nothing, the values do not change) 4 - Should I create my own way of doing this task, have you any idea as I have none? [Mono-list] Bug on mono preview?
Hi friends The latest preview that I have compiled myself crashes any application when I press any key from the keyboard, even though the installation proceded without issues and the applications open normally, I think it has something to do with the brazilian abnt2 keyboard model, I now that this bug has been reported in the past by monoman but it is still not corrected, another thing is a lot of bugs in a simple mdi application using winforms of version 1.1, if I was to report them I would take too long and perhaps would not help very much, if a developer of mono/winforms want I would send them an application to show what the bugs are and how to see them happening, the application is very small and is a test one... [Bug 89668] RMVB vídeos without sound
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libxine1-ffmpeg OK, having w32codecs installed try playing a rmvb vídeo with totem-xine, it works perfectly, now lets suppose you have an avi vídeo that uses ffmpeg, then you have to install libxine1-ffmpeg for it to play, ok the vídeo works now after the installation, but what about that rmvb vídeo, it plays but with no sound, if I uninstall libxine1-ffmpeg, like magic, the rmvb vídeo play with sound again. That is: with libxine1-ffmpeg - rmvb vídeos without sound. without libxine1-ffmpeg - rmvb vídeos with sound. without libxine1-ffmpeg - most of avi's will not work. Hope it helps. [Mono-list] Gnome using mono and c#?
Hi folks Some time ago I sent a message about develping gnome using mono and c#, but after searching about the subject (and with some answers from my post) I could understand why it is not, perhaps in the future but not know, gnome is fast using c and I would not be willing to use gnome in mono/c# at the cost of performance. In contrast there are lot's of c# applications for gnome that gives it life, but I myself prefer rhythmbox instead of banshee, and many others developed using c instead of those developed in c#, as you can see I changed my mind and will keep using c# in gnome for my database applications. You need to use editable CellRenderers. So if you are packing a
CellRendererText for displaying the name, you do something like:

If instead have some rich object you are storing in the TreeModel, and
you're modifying some field on it, you'll need to call

rendering of the given row is updated accordingly.

Now I think that I am able to help the project, do you belong to the
project (etoile)?, I am a Delphi programmer and I am trying to learn
Objective-C but with no success until now, the examples of the site www.gnustep.org
do not work, when I try to compile I always have the same message:
Making all for tool LogTest...
Compiling file teste01.m ...
teste01.m:6: error: syntax error before '{' token
make[1]: ** [shared_obj/teste01.o] Erro 1
make: ** [LogTest.all.tool.variables] Erro 2
the example is the following:

and the make file is the following:

exactly like the tutorial :-)

I have found two bugs, I think!
In Project center when you choose an file for example Controller.m and press the backspace in the bottom part of the window it crashes, and when I try to compile an project it says NSTask - no launch path set, I am using ProjectCenter 0.4.1.
