[Bug 388909] Re: gparted does not appear in System-Administration
I'm not sure whether this is a ubiquity bug because it has not been proven that it was ubiquity that put it there. If you assume that the name change and the default install are both the same bug, then it can't be ubiquity that caused this bug -- [karmic-alpha-2] gparted is accidentally installed by ubiquity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388909 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 388904] [NEW] Nautilus displays too much data when viewing 'Computer'
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I am running Karmic Alpha 2 In previous versions of Ubuntu, when navigating to the 'Computer' directory, nautilus would display the label of the partition, and if it didn't have one, then the size of the media. However, now (2.27.1) when I navigate to 'Computer', it displays too much information, such as the name of the drive etc. For example, before it would say: GENTOO Now it says: 41 GB ATA Maxtor 6E040L0: GENTOO and instead of saying: BACKUP it says: 500 GB ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0: BACKUP ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Jun 18 11:34:19 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus Package: nautilus 1:2.27.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.30-8.9-generic SourcePackage: nautilus Uname: Linux 2.6.30-8-generic i686 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Nautilus displays too much data when viewing 'Computer' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388904 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 388909] Re: gparted does not appear in System-Administration
I know Gparted is installed by default in Jaunty. So unless it was removed it must still be there. And gparted is installed by default in karmic alpha 2 because when I run it from the command line, it starts. The problem here is that it does not appear by default in the System-Administration folder and when it is reinstalled, it does not bear the correct name. Even if it wasn't supposed to be installed by default, then installing should give it the right name on the menu at least! -- gparted does not appear in System-Administration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388909 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[bm] Vision document for the propagation of BM
Dear friends, Vandemataram ! As I have sent my strategy and propagation plan in the starting of my tenure, but after discussing with our General Secretary, I am sending it again as a vission document. - Our main motto should not be to increase the no. of members of BM, but to give BM such patriot and passionate people who can serve country with full devotion and dedication. - Propagation doesn't mean only to increase the number, but we must also concentrate over how we can retain the activeness of the members. Because, saving members is also a part of propagation and not only to contact new members and let them go after some time. - Our motto will not only be focused on increasing members, but propagation means to propagate the ideology, policies and image of BM into the masses. Because our goal is to come into politics where people will vote for us, and we should not think that only our members will vote for us. We must propagate BM in such a manner that we can present a very good image of BM among masses. - As in our own BM, we have more than 50 chapters, but the active chapters are only 9. Thus my first priority will be to activate the remaining chapters with a very good strength and passion. Thus, I am going to make two type of teams. One will be a national team, which will look after the national progation task of BM, and the other will consist of the representatives from every inactive chapter so that we can better co-ordinate with them and make them work enthusiastically. The active chapters can also send their representatives for this team (infact, they must send). This will also lead BM to have mass level involvement, because its not necessary that only members of active chapters can have good ideas. From this we can have some very good ideas and suggestions from all over the India. Vision Document till March 2008 1. *Mission Sampoorna: MP, Karnataka, Maharashtra TN * Run these as pilots in 2007-08 to have atleast 5-6 Active Chapters on ground by term end. The next steps would be Sampoorna Bharat by 2010 1. *Establish atleast One Active chapter in each of the 35 states and Union Territories * 2. *Re-activating defunct chapters like Jaipur, Kanpur, Trichy, Allahabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, etc. * 3. *Target to have atleast 50 Active Chapters by term end (March 31, 2008) * 4. *Target to have atleast 15-20 Active members in existing Active Chapters atleast 5-10 Active members in the remaining chapters (including those to be developed). That should lead us to a target of 350-500 Active members (15X10 + 5X40 = 350) by the term end (increase of 10-15 fold). * As I personally don't believe in such mathematics, but it will be essential for the propagation of BM. For the effective propagation of BM in the new chapters ( i.e. to initiate new chpter) an experienced member of BM will go to the new chapter to take a formal meeting and to give them his experience and the suggestions to work efficiently. But nobody can afford such expenses, thus the BM will bear the minimum traveling expenses of the person for this work. So that good people can come forward for this work without any hesitation. -- Arvind Secretary Propagation Bharat Uday Mission 09926663334 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
