Our direct end client, a world leader in public health care, has openings for
an experienced OO Consultant for a contract position in their St. Louis - MO
office.
The successful candidate will work with the development team (8+ developers) to
develop new features and to support and maintain existing code base using Java
(J2SE).
Minimum Requirements
-
* At least 8 years of software development experience
* Minimum 4 years experience using Java and preferably 1 year of C++
experience.
* At least 4 years of experience using relational databases such as Oracle /
DB2 / SQL Server etc.
* Minimum 3 years OO analysis and design experience using Design Patterns and
UML. At least 2 years of experience using an OO Modeling tool such as Rational
Rose or Together.
* At least 4 years experience developing multi-tier and client-server
applications.
* Past experience with XML Parsing (using DOM or SAX)
* 1 year of experience using Hibernate and Spring
* Experience with a software development methodology such as RUP or XP
* At least 1 year of experience in the use of JUnit based testing tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
* Enthusiastic contributor with a real go-getter, can-do attitude who things
proactively and delivers high quality software.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.
* A BS in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Preferred Requirements (these are not required but would be nice to have):

* Experience with Test-Driven Development
* Experience with agile software development process
* Experience with developing in an FDA-regulated environment strongly
preferred.
* Past experience using RMI and/or CORBA (Visibroker / JacORB etc.)
* Experience with OO Databases such as Poet/FastObjects.
* MS in Computer Sciences or Electrical Engineering
* Java Swing experience.
