Re: [art] Presentation of OOo Logo Ideas at Orvieto
Hi Bernhard! I am fine with removing my font ideas from the poster, because it wouldn´t fit. Your poster is ok and will do the eye catcher job. For details you got the additional stands, so nothing is missing... Thank you for your work and have a good time in Orvieto! greets Jens Am 01.11.2009 um 02:56 schrieb Bernhard Dippold: Hi all, I just finished my first idea of the main poster for Orvieto: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/File:Logo_presentation_concept.png The png file is a small representation of the original ODG and PDF files I uploaded to my homepage. As the poster is planned to be in size A0 they are quite large: http://www.familie-dippold.at/OpenOffice.org/concept.odg (1.3MB) (when I try to open the file directly on the web, I'm told it would be corrupted, after downloading it works - hopefully for you too) http://www.familie-dippold.at/OpenOffice.org/concept.pdf (950kB) In the ODG file the second tab (controls) is hidden (context menu - modify layer)- if you show it, you'll see the contours of the A4 sheets I'm going to print out and attach to the display stand at Orvieto. I cut most of the logos to be able to integrate all proposals (Jens, I didn't integrate your font comparison - hope this is o.k. for you), some of them had to be reduced to one of the alternatives. On additional stands I want to present the full concepts - including the unmodified images and the corresponding texts. Do think this is ok? Should I present our work differently? Re: [art] Presentation of OOo Logo Ideas at Orvieto
Hi Bernhard, * Maybe we should just show the concepts as they are without too much details. Our main goal is to remember the community there is an art team. Comments are very welcome... and hopefully most people just say it is time for something new... If you have the size of the display stands, we can decide for a poster or one per page printed concepts. But you must bring them all the way, so you can decide about size in first place. regards Jens Am 25.10.2009 um 10:59 schrieb Bernhard Dippold bernh...@familie-dippold.at : Hi all, we agreed on stopping the collection of the logo proposals to be presented at Orvieto on Saturday 24th. It seems that there are only a few people at Honolulu, Papeete and Pago Pago are allowed to upload any new proposals... Now we'll have to work on the presentation of the concepts at Orvieto. We'll have a stand (perhaps more than one) in a central place, so we should create one ore more poster out of the proposals. I asked at the conference list for the number and size of the display stands we can get. Do we want to show the proposals like they are now - as listing with different amount of text and different finalized designs? What do you think of an overview - the present logo along with all proposals - and the content of the wiki page on additional stands? Should we add a place for comments by the visitors? I'll have to print the posters and bring them to Orvieto by train, so it would be easier if they would not bee too large... Re: [art] Ideas for a new OOo logo to be presented at Orvieto?
A cube is never really unique ( Nintendo or Next for example ). I like simple geometry, but it must stand alone. Only one person reminding another logo disqualifies this one. I will think about working out the O's another way, but a cube is a cube - and maybe this is the problem from the start. Re: [art] Art Project Wiki - purpose of the subgalleries?
Hi Bernhard! There are also some posters and other stuff ( german marketing material ) here: http://de.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=811 Maybe we can merge this stuff into the wiki, too? I would really appreciate if we have one art/marketing pool. Sorting should based on content, because if someone for example is looking fpr posters he can´t find them by artist. Hi! I made this with my good and old Cinema 4D R8 Raytracer. It is really a sketchy draft - so it shouldn´t be used for any final images... Sure everyone would prefer something more standard like an Illustrator vektor file, but 3D in Illustrator was never my strong point. Our request is related to the overall project logo. At the moment, the activity Renaissance is in a very early stage. But we think it might be important to give this activity a visual identity - because many people will be involved and it will be worked on for many months (or years?). And the activity seems to gain interest, e.g: after being announced on a popular German news page, the wiki counted over 10.000 page visits on one day... So I would kindly ask for support creating such a logo. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Where will the logo most propably be used? * Internet (wiki, web site, blog entries) * Presentations * ... We would like to communicate the goals of the activity, so there are some things we would like to consider for that logo: * The logo shows (at least) the text Renaissance * The logo is somehow related to OpenOffice.org * The logo comprises the ideas of the Renaissance epoch * The logo avoids the old fashioned style of the Renaissance epoch :-) * The style is fresh but rather neutral (at the moment the result of our activity is open...)
