Nice ..

Its not diffcult to config an NM-16ESW .. typically like any other switch .
Hope u are aware of its limitations etc as well . Though u r simulating this
as c37xx switch .. but dont expect 100 % same behaviour .. this is just a NM
sitting on ur ISR and behaving like a switch .

So there can b limitations like number of vlans .. some show commands ( sh
vlan will be replaced by sh vlan-sw ) et ctec etc

Also hope u know the fact that having more than 1 NM16esw in a sys can cause
unexpected results if u have not performed stacking

Any queries on this NM or other ether switch NM / HWIC .. please feel free
to ask me

Re: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Spanning-tree Worksheet

2009-12-02 Thread Erik.Fairbanks.CTR
Haha...sorry. An explanation would be nice :)

Basically, for each worksheet, you need to identify the spanning-tree root
bridge for the topology and then calculate the subsequent root ports,
designated ports, and blocked ports for each link and bridge. I usually use
R, D, and X respectively to identify each. Additionally, the cost to the
root bridge from each switch should be calculated (CTR field). The cost of
each link is identified on each line; i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I used simple link
costs just to make the math easier to do (this isn't a math test).

The actual physical topology for each worksheet is the same, but the bridge IDs
and link costs change which makes the calculations completely different for
each sheet.

Anyway, I hope you guys find it useful :)

 Hi

I have followed the example as shown on the link that you sent me. But now
R3 does filter all R1s Loopbacks. I have only configured R3 to filter R1s
 Loopback 2. Please see below!

 *
 router bgp 54
  no synchronization
  bgp log-neighbor-changes
  network 4.1.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0
  neighbor 54.1.1.1 remote-as 54
  distribute-list prefix R1L2 in
  no auto-summary
 !
 !
 ip prefix-list R1L2 seq 5 deny 1.1.2.0/24*
