final price is not yet clear (expected to be less than 30 EUR incl.
shipment) because we are in intensive discussions with Openmoko how
they can help to reduce this fee for you.

Openmoko has given us now full support and therefore, we can reduce
the fee dramatically. A bad news is that you have to cover 2 way
shipment. But another good news is that Openmoko provides a free
battery as a gift for each shipment.

Can someone from Openmoko comment on whether there are plans to offer
something similar outside the EU? I'm in the US, but I'm sure
Freerunner users elsewhere are also interested.

I am sorry if my post hurts anyone
All I wanted to say is that I expected that those hardware issues would be a

All this because I beleive in the open community, in OM and in my FR. And

My 2 cent

2008-12-10 Thread drac2000

I was watching the FR since 2 years almost, I was runing crazy (checking the

I am a very proud FR owner, and beeing part of the comunity.

arne anka wrote:

the buzzing issue is _technically_ solved.
the cause has been found a long while ago.
fixes where tested and brought down to a fix that _could_ be done by users

I am using FR (qtextended) as my daily phone, even living with the real
issue that bother me which is the buzzing
beside that I can have 2 distros installed (or more) on my FR and play with
all stuff in it
It is amazing device, with amazing developers working on it, and i can't
wait to start contributing on high level programing

I will just like that the OM works on the hardware/firmware issues, and make
all the OM team focus on those issue (buzz and echo). And then, when it gets
to OS / software I'm really not anxious cause there will be a lot of
contributions

So my 2 cens is FOCUS ON THE HARDWARE/FIRMWARE issues, and find convenient
fixes scenarios for GTAx. And then Let's Go Go go...

Long Live to the FR :drunk:

 - edit /usr/share/navit/navit.xml, uncomment the line gui=internal,
comment the line gui=gtk. I also advise you to uncomment the lines which
enable zoomin and zoomout button on the osd, a few lines below.

Those 2 pitfalls should be fixed really soon.

Re: [QtExtended] Best 4.4.2 image?

2008-11-21 Thread drac2000

I went to get mwester kernel and modules
Currently i run qtextended from SD card (my flashed distro is FDOM)
following the How-to on wiki, so I have
/dev/mmcblk0p1 that contains uImage.bin and /dev/mmcblk0p2 thta contains
flatted jffs2 image

I overwrited the kernel image (uImage.bin) that I had on my SD, but for the
modules i just tar it to replace the current /lib in the /dev/mmcblk0p2
partition.

Is this correct? Cause i Tried and I'm getting KErnel Panic all the time if
i boot Qt from the SD card?

Can you please refer me right paths ?
Me 2 i am using the qextended as my daily phone

But i experienced a lot of problems with mp3 player Sound speaker out if I
plug the headphones !!

Would you suggest me to install only the image file from
http://moko.mwester.net/dl.html ?

Another question for you please: Could you have a video file played properly
on any of the qtextended releases?
I was trying to do so with an avi 320*240 file but it was complaining about
not supported file. Do you have any experience with video file types
supported by qtextended

Thanks a lot

Using even the unstable kernel, ontop of daily phone features (making
and receiving calls, txt msgs, caller id, contacts off sim) it also
suspends/resumes perfect, can play mp3's with the media player (using
the headphones as well), and transfer files to the SD card. Should you
have any problems, you can always switch to the stable kernel.
http://moko.mwester.net/dl.html is where you will find the kernels. The
only issue I have had is a missing terminal shortcut when I used the
binary update for 4.4.1 to 4.4.2. Since you're not doing that, it should
 be fine :)
