Get new kernel - the immediate reboot is now fixed in = 2.6.28 stable.

Paul, how can i get the log? Output of dmesg will be enought?

Andy has applied three patches that fixed the reboot of windows
machine in the middle of January!

Moreover, OE builds the kernel with these patches included (look for
the 2.6.28 openmoko kernel recipe in the fso-milestone5 branch,
accessible via webinterface).

After applying those 3 patches, enable usb debugging in kernel and
provide rndis/ethernet driver maintainer with a log.

I hope yes, provided you enabled USB debug. I think it'd be a good
start to post these logs and a description to linux usb mailing list.

Yes, me (have only Windows at work). I got a bluescreen once, but it never
happened again... But somehow I can't get a internet connection (network
works only between FR and Host), so I created a debian VMWare, and pass the

Yes it seems to be broken since kernel 2.6.28 .
Used to even crash windows but openmoko kernel was patched a few weeks
ago. Though it does not crash anymore but still does not work. (broken
in upstream linux kernel)

I can't test your configuration. The port of my switch will be shut down if
I enable the connection sharing (port security). But I can offer you some
English descriptions for your Wiki entry.

- Systemsteuerung = Control Panel
- Netzwerkverbindungen = Network Connections
- the network adaptors are in EN Windows are normally called Local Area
Connection
- Eigenschaften = Properties
- Erweitert = Advanced
- Gemeinsame Nutzung der Internetverbindung = Internet Connection Sharing
- Anderen Benutzern im Netzwerk gestatten, die Internetverbindung dieses
Computers zu verwenden = Allow other network users to connect through this
computer's Internet connection

So you may update the Wiki section with a proper translation :)

Cheers,
Daniel

connect freerunner with debian to a windows-PC

2009-01-06 Thread VanInwagen

Hi, all,
is there anyone who can help me?
I've got debian installed on my freerunner and now i try to connect to a
windows xp machine.
my debian is quite naked, but in general it's the debian built by the
official script linked in the wiki, you surely know.
The rndis-windows driver has been taken from here:

http://users.informatik.uni-halle.de/~rabe/neo/Neo1973.inf

connecting the freerunner with om2008.12 installed works just fine,
with debian the driver on xp says he could not connect and gives an
error-code 10.

anyone knows whats up?

and: i know i shouldn't use windows and i should take a linux-distribution
instead. Well, i would if i could, you know? please help me!
thank you very much
