Removal of buster-backports from the debian archive.

Hi, 

Debian Backports does not support LTS [1], therefore buster-backports is 
unsupported since August 1st
2022. Despite of the documentation buster-backport was still available on the 
mirrors, that changed
recently with the archival of buster-backports. Unfortunately I missed to 
create an announcement in
2022 which led so some surprise, I have to apologize for that. Please take this 
as the missing
announcement. 

Short reminder: on August 15th bullseye-backports will be deprecated and can be 
removed at any time
from the mirrors after that date. A seperate announcement will follow in August.

  Second, Packages in backports-sloppy are
  provided "as-is" and have no official support. Like old-stable-backports,
  old-stable-backports-sloppy is taken offline one year after a new Debian

That policy is ages old and basically says once oldstable gets one
year old, backports close, so it technically doesn’t need announcing…

You are right, I fucked this up when creating the new suites and updating the 
website. My bad.
Anyhow I do not plan to announce archive removals from long unsupported suites.

jftr, the website had been updated to reflect the discontinuation of 
buster-backports. Just the
packages link has been forgotten. 

And from my perspective https://backports.debian.org/Instructions/ has a lot of 
explanations about
the support status. If you think something is unclear, please send a patch.

Which was also not announced on debian-backports-announce. The last
entry there is from 2021…
I mean it couldn't be that hard to put such a post ther every two yeras
when it happens.

Or, because this will affects buster (which is currently in LTS stage)
immediately after packages are removed from main archive, 
perhaps even debian-lts-announce.

Reading https://backports.debian.org/ , it looks confusing about what
Debian backports versions are supported. Furthermore,
https://backports.debian.org/Packages/ contains outdated links that
points to buster-backports, which further confuses people. Can I expect
the homepage and the Packages page to be updated soon? I see that

The repository was moved to archive.debian.org. Use something like this
in your sources.list:
