Bug#774609: eztrace-contrib: please build-depend on libtool-bin to fix FTBFS
Package: eztrace-contrib Version: 1.0.5-1 Severity: serious Tags: patch Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past) User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com Usertags: origin-ubuntu vivid ubuntu-patch Dear Maintainer, eztrace-contrib currently fails to build from source on amd64 with unstabe sources due to calling the libtool command but not build-depending on libtool-bin, which now provides that command. It doesn't, accordingly, properly create cuda.lo, which leads to the following error: libtool: link: `cuda.lo' is not a valid libtool object In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following: * Build-depend on libtool-bin to fix FTBFS. Bug#762132: Is it only in Debian?
Package: fglrx-driver Version: 1:14.12-1 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- I want to stress that this bug seems to be only in Debian. Next time please either reply inline or put everything into a text file, not an OpenOffice/LibreOffice Writer document. ..yes, sorry I'll do so.. According to your /var/log/Xorg.8.log logfile, it looks like the problem is that for some reason the nvidia driver is unable to detect your nvidia GPU, i.e. [ 9176.525] (II) NVIDIA dlloader X Driver 340.46 Wed Sep 24 13:34:03 PDT 2014 [ 9176.525] (II) NVIDIA Unified Driver for all Supported NVIDIA GPUs [ 9176.525] () using VT number 7 [ 9176.525] (EE) No devices detected. See supported products section at [1]. Otherwise, you may have to set the BusID manually in /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia. Refer to the comments in that file for a brief howto. Regards, Vincent [1] http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverresults.aspx/78469/en-us Meanwhile I found the solution which I posted on GitHub where I looked also for a solution. See the conversation here: https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee/issues/580 The solution (for me) was, that I had to DELETE the BusID parameter in my /etc/bumblebee/xorg.conf.nvidia. I set this parameter at first manually, as you suggested. I checked twice if it was the correct number, but the error message remained. After deleting it, bumblebee worked! A vblank_mode=0 optirun -b primus glxgears -info now gave me 945 fps instead of the 60 and a cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch showed me the card was ON. But whenever I UNCOMMENT the BusID:xxx line in the xorg.conf.nvidia, the error message returned again. I can't say for sure, if the latest nvidia driver update to version 340.65-2 has something to do with it too, as was mentioned on GitHub, because I'm not sure any longer, if I tried bumblebee the first time without this parameter also or not. I only know that I set and uncomment it then. Bug#774559: php5: dpkg trigger cycle between libapache2-mod-php5{, filter} and php5-common
Package: src:php5 Version: 5.6.4+dfsg-1 Severity: serious Hi, The libapache2-mod-php5 and libapache2-mod-php5filter packages have a trigger cycle via the php5-common package. This was detected by a script on jenkins.debian.net[1]. Steps to reproduce the cycle (in a Jessie/sid chroot): apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5 php5-common dpkg --unpack /var/cache/apt/archives/php5-common_${PHP5-COMMON_VERSION}_*.deb dpkg --configure --pending (Similar for libapache2-mod-php5filter) This simulates an upgrade scenario, where php5-common might be temporarily deconfigured while libapache2-mod-php5 (or libapache2-mod-php5filter) remains configured. If this happens, dpkg is unable to recover as the cycle requires php5-common to be configured for it to run the trigger because the libapache2-mod-php5 (and libapache2-mod-php5filter) depends on php5-common. Known solutions: * Use no-await triggers. *CAVEAT*: not always applicable. Known suitable use cases includes cache handling, where the cache is allowed to be out of date tempoarily. * Reduce the dependency to Recommends. *CAVEAT*: Rarely applicable. * Rewrite the solution to avoid triggers entirely. *CAVEAT*: May be non-trivial and likely to involve updates to at least libapache2-mod-php5 and libapache2-mod-php5filter. ~Niels [1] https://jenkins.debian.net/view/Warnings/job/dpkg_sid_find_trigger_cycles/24/console -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#774561: ITP: openlayers3 -- JavaScript library for displaying map data in web browsers
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Bas Couwenberg sebas...@xs4all.nl * Package name: openlayers3 Version : 3.1.1 Upstream Author : OpenLayers Contributors * URL : http://openlayers.org/ * License : BSD-2-Clause Programming Lang: JavaScript Description : JavaScript library for displaying map data in web browsers OpenLayers is a pure JavaScript library for displaying map data in most modern web browsers, with no server-side dependencies. OpenLayers implements a JavaScript API for building rich web-based geographic applications, similar to the Google Maps and MSN Virtual Earth APIs. This package contains OpenLayers 3 (OL3), a fundamental redesign of the OpenLayers web mapping library. Version 2 is widely used, but dates from the early days of Javascript development, and is increasingly showing its age. OL3 has been rewritten from the ground up to use modern design patterns. The openlayers3 package will be maintained within the Debian GIS team. Many of the OpenLayers 3 Node.js dependencies that are not yet packaged in Debian are probably best maintained by the Debian JavaScript Maintainers. openlayers-npm2deb-depends.txt Description: inode/symlink

Bug#774551: unblock: flash-kernel/3.30
Control: tag -1 confirmed Ian Campbell i...@debian.org (2015-01-04): Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: d-i User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Please unblock package flash-kernel. This package produces a udeb, so kibi CCd and d-i tag added. Testing currently contains 3.28. 3.29 was a brown paper bag upload to revert an accidental upload of a version intended for experimental to unstable. It fixed the content type for a translation but was otherwise a nop compared with 3.28. 3.30 adds support for the TI OMAP5 uEVM board (#77325) and LinkSprite pcDuino3 (user request on debian-arm@) as well as an alternative name for the BeagleBone Black (#773890). It also avoids issues arising from the old ambigous name used by BBB which could be confused for the BeagleBone White by refusing to boot on the White (which is a far less common platform, which we don't currently support). Fixing things to work on both would be a far larger patch not suitable for Jessie (at least in the abasence of a user request). This was discussed in #773890). Lastly this version makes sure that /dev/mtdblock* will be available before use by ensuring that the kernel module is loaded (#773991). No objection, thanks. I don't know why the FULLSCREEN option was disabled. It doesn't seem to be a decorated window controlled by the window manager, before the change. Hello, bouncy does not provide an option to toggle fullscreen and window mode. I think this might be the reason why the upstream author decided to deactivate FULLSCREEN at that time. I get a fixed window with a viewport of 1024x768 pixel which I can move around. What kind of window manager do you use? Perhaps this bug report should be retitled to please support fullscreen mode. Bug#774579: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: Kernel fails to boot - cannot find root
Package: src:linux Version: 3.16.7-ckt2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Hi, At some point between the 3.13 and the 3.16 kernels, the ata-piix driver appears to have broken for my hardware (I don't have the intermediate versions to check precisely which version it broke at). The console output from boot is: consoleoutput Booting the kernel. [0.984116] agpgart-intel :00:00.0: can't determine aperture size Loading, please wait... Common problems: /consoleoutput After this I get some fairly standard text complaining about not finding the root device and left with a BusyBox prompt. The system boots fine with a 3.13 kernel (which is what I'm running now in order to send this report) I'm happy to give further information on request (please let me know where I can find the info when asking for it though) or try out patched kernels (preferably supplied as '.deb' packages please :-) ). As long as wget is used from the host and not within chroot, the existing check should be scrapped, and wget added as a dependency for the live-build package itself. I feel that 'depends' is the correct section to place it in, since it is necessary for a significant portion of functionality (installer and live fs firmware components), as per debian policy. wget is not needed for basic live system building, thus recommends is the right place for wget here. -- Address:Daniel Baumann, Donnerbuehlweg 3, CH-3012 Bern Email: daniel.baum...@progress-technologies.net Internet: http://people.progress-technologies.net/~daniel.baumann/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#774378: Ubuntu firmware inclusion
Ok, I'm totally on board with Ubuntu needing to fix their layout. I posted in their mailing lists about it to make sure they are aware of the problem as it relates to live-build. Forgot to post the link here, so here it is: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-mirrors/2015-January/000351.html I did also post it to their archive mailing list, but it's not appeared there (yet). I was considering building a patch on top of my bug #718225 solution (which I'll be posting within the hour btw), but it'd be somewhat large, and Ubuntu building is already broken as it is (#774396 #774391). With my solution in place, Ubuntu building will definitely be impossible until either Ubuntu changes their layout, or we build a patch. My bumblebee, xserver-xorg and xserver-common versions are the same as in Mareks post which I answer. I've attached a file with all information you requested. Next time please either reply inline or put everything into a text file, not an OpenOffice/LibreOffice Writer document.
