Bug#865788: mutter breaks clipboard for firefox/chromium
Package: mutter Version: 3.22.4-1 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi, copy from firefox and paste to gnome terminal etc. is broken right now in sid. I tested following patch to work nicely: https://bug782472.bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=351576 Would be nice to get an updated version in sid for this soon as its major usability PITA if you cannto copy stuff from the two leading browsers... Thanks for maintaining mutter in debian, - Alexander

Bug#835735: connman: FTBFS: dh_install: missing files, aborting
tags 835735 - unreproducible tags 835735 + confirmed patch thanks ok thanks. reproduced and found the problem. Seems that system.pc which is used to find the tmpfiles dir in configure.ac is shipped by systemd and non of the normal build deps pull that in. Fix would involve to use --with-tmpfilesdir=/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/ configure flag explicitly instead of build depending on systemd. - Alexander 2016-09-05 10:32 GMT+02:00 Lucas Nussbaum <lu...@debian.org>: > On 05/09/16 at 10:19 +0200, Alexander Sack wrote: >> tags 835735 + unreproducible >> thanks >> >> Hi, >> >> just did a clean build of the package in archive on amd64 in up to >> date sid and it does not fail to build here. >> >> Will poke a bit more and let bug know.. > > Strange: I tried again and could reproduce it. tags 833294 - moreinfo tags 833294 + confirmed thanks Yes, those shouldn't stay around after purging. Settings I have to check, but I don't think it's meant to be settings for manual edit by admin as connman probably updates those on the fly regularly based on what user does in the UI or clie config tool, so think var is OK for that to live ... Bug#827296: #827296 - connman: Connman slow down the boot when no network available
tags 827296 + moreinfo severity 827296 normal thanks Hi, this seems to be a feature. Seems you were able to resolve this issue? Anything you think that should be done here? Network Manager also has a similar wait job. timeout there is 30 seconds. connman just seem to have a higher default timeout in code (120 seconds). You could customize the job with --timeout=30 or we could use that as the default in the package if we feel there is strong reason to believe that majority of debian users will want the shorter timeout. Let me know if you are happy with the ability to tweak by yourself... Thanks, - Alexander

On Fri, Aug 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM, Alexandros Frantzis alexandros.frant...@linaro.org wrote: Hi all, I have made an update to the prototype glx/eglx unified packages for clutter. The main difference from the previous version is that now clutter_glx_texture_pixmap() for eglx is just a dummy implementation that falls back to clutter_x11_texture_pixmap(). Here are the full characteristics of the packaging (for completeness): * All variants produce a library with soname libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0 and eglx variants also ship compatibility links libclutter-eglx-1.0.so.0 - libclutter-glx-1.0.so.0 * The API/ABI for all the produced variants is the same with the exception of the clutter_eglx_display() function that exists only in the eglx variants. * To attain ABI compatibility, a dummy implementation of clutter_glx_texture_pixmap() was added to the eglx variants. This implementation just falls back to clutter_x11_texture_pixmap(). Note that in 1.3.x the implementation of the texture-pixmap API has been pushed in cogl and one can use clutter_x11_texture_pixmap() without caring about what backend is being used. For now, however, we are stuck with duplicating clutter_glx_texture_pixmap() in eglx. * The variant packages libclutter-1.0-{0|dev}, libclutter-eglx-es*-1.0-{0|dev} are swappable (they all provide libclutter-1.0-{0|dev}). So, to build packages against clutter just use libclutter-1.0-dev and libclutter-1.0-0, that is, do things as usual (just don't use variant specific defines in your source eg CLUTTER_FLAVOUR). You can try out the packages using ppa:afrantzis/clutter-1.2-unified The packaging branch is at lp:~afrantzis/+junk/clutter-1.0-x11-unified It would be great if you could give the new packages a try! Don't hesitate to contact me for any feedback or questions. Also noteworthy that Alexandros tested the packages and unity seems to still work if you use the glx libs ... so thats promissing. Also the upgrade path I was told is still fine, so just enabling his ppa and dist-upgrading should do the right thing - please try! If we get no negative feedback on the chosen approach, we will try to get a feature freeze exception and push this to maverick asap. Next step would then be to hook up the clutter_glx_texture_pixmap implementation shipped in the eglx libs to the right egl/gles extension. We are working on this implementation in linaro with vendors. Stay tuned and thanks! -- - Alexander -- - Alexander

Bug#515590: PPP new upstream snapshot 2.4.5 git - rebased ubuntu patches

IIRC there have been some more commits after the release, please make a new snapshot instead. There is a file in debian/ with the instructions. What I can try to do is update the current package to 2.4.5. This would be more or less a one-time only effort though. I would still find this very useful if it helped to reduce the bugs count. My question was more targetted at what your specific plans are wrt squeeze (and beyond), i.e. if a 2.4.5 upload for squeeze is out of the question for you or just a matter of lacking time. I would love to make a new upload, but all the open bugs scare me. I need help to greatly shrink the list of open bugs. but keeping the old version will not make those bugs go away ;) ... Better have not triaged bugs open than having buggy outdated ppp. Did you ever check out the rebase of the patches we made in ubuntu? Sure, I just meant to highlight that he's probably more qualified than other people (surely more than me for instance) to judge on this. I do hope he has already thought about it :), but it would indeed be nice if he can share his opinions here. We are already tracking[1] chromium security issues, this is another webkit fork and it is a real pain; but given the fact that now we have three members in the webkit security groups (Fathi is one of them), from the Security team's (CCed) point of view there is no objections. I am not saying there is no way to do that, just that its tough and we have to learn a lot before we can consider putting chromium in a stable release for debian. After a quick look to their release blog, I noted a lot of announcement for the dev tree, but not for the stable tree. Anyway could you explain your plans for chromium in Debian please? When do you intend to upload it in unstable or experimental? BTW, yesterday I uploaded gyp. FWIW, I concur with Alexander Sack. We should not yet include Chromium in Squeeze. Let's give it some time to settle down and observe if it's actually maintainable. The issues raised by both Alexander and Tom Callaway of Fedora seem very credible to me. If Chromium in Squeeze+1 can be build with the system copy of webkit, that's an added bonus. Likewise, we shouldn't include libv8 yet (or exclude it from security support). Yeah, in any case we might want to get this in experimental/unstable so we get a feeling how this can be maintained. The old icedove-gnome-support contains only one shared object file (libmozgnome.so), which provide integration into the Gnome desktop environment. At the time, it's not easy to run icedove without Gnome. So I merge this one object file into the main package. in ubuntu firefox we strip the depends from the firefox package and ship them in the -gnome-support package so if you install that you also force the depends. Not sure if you plan to do that, but the experience is then close to upstream: 1. if on gnome you get gnome support 2. if not on gnome and the libs are missing you dont get gnome support also you might want to check out our firefox-kde.patch in ubuntu. that one helps our kde folks a lot. It can probably be adapted for icedove ... even though its from an older branch than our patch. - Alexander -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
