If someone of the team wants to handle it, no problem. If I have some time, I'll retitle the bug and change the owner to myself. Maybe we should create apacheds1.0 and apacheds1.5 packages, to handle both stable and unstable branches. I'm working on this and I packaged xmlgraphics-commons which is now needed by FOP. I realized that xmlgraphics-commons will need to be built by non-free jdk because of some jpeg and tiff codecs from Sun (they are not yet implemented in free class library). Also, as Sun is releasing openjdk, we can soon integrate parts of the api in other free libraries, then, it'll be possible to move it to main. AspectWerkz offers both power and simplicity and will help you to easily integrate AOP in both new and existing projects. AspectWerkz utilizes bytecode modification to weave your classes at project build-time, class load time or runtime. It hooks in using standardized JVM level APIs. It has a rich and highly orthogonal join point model. Aspects, advices and introductions are written in plain Java and your target classes can be regular POJOs. You have the possibility to add, remove and re-structure advice as well as swapping the implementation of your introductions at runtime. Your aspects can be defined using either Java 5 annotations, Java 1.3/1.4 custom doclets or a simple XML definition file. AspectWerkz provides an API to use the very same aspects for proxies, hence providing a transparent experience, allowing a smooth transition for users familiar with proxies. On 11/17/06, Marcus Better [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Further information on running with java-gcj-compat-dev: You need to remove all references to libgcj.jar from the classpath. This means removing the line CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:$JSSE_HOME/lib/jcert.jar:$JSSE_HOME/lib/jnet.jar:$JSSE_HOME/lib/jsse.jar from /usr/share/tomcat5.5/bin/catalina.sh. Bug#398448: ITP: openjdk-compiler
On 11/14/06, Ola Lundqvist [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Some people may remember that I was working for a couple of years on the java-policy, but stopped that after a while because it was so hard to get things working as Sun java was the standard and it could not go to main, or even non-free at that time. Now when Sun has changed their mind on this, then I get my enthuiasm back. :) I know your work and I thank you for that. It's good to see you back. I'd like to invite you to join the Alioth's pkg-java project, are you ok with that? I hoped that I could use jvm from gcj or kaffe to build it. I have tried gij and gcj. Next try will be kaffe as I want to be able to build it with things from main only, so it can go to main. I'll make a few tries now. There are some discussions at classpath@gnu.org to try to build javac and hotspot with classpath library. This could also be an option. [...] Please, go co-maintaining with people who already worked on the jdk package. I'll do that, especially for the jdk as that seems more complicated than the compiler. I have filed an ITP for that as well. :) People with interest about Sun's jdk in main, raise your keyboard in the air, like you just care :-D (avdyk: hip hop fan). -- Arnaud Vandyck -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
