Correct, hence minor severity.

I tried to find the reason for bumping the minor version of package
dependencies by looking at the git commits in the gajim repository, but
there was no reason given in the commit comments. I have asked Philipp
Hörist for clarification by tagging him here:

Bug#1060856: (no subject)

2024-01-15 Thread Christian Häggström
Upgrading gtk3 gives the next error "Gajim needs glib >= 2.66.0 (found
2.62.5) to run"

Upgrading gir1.2-glib-2.0 helped that error and gajim starts. I found
the full list of requirements in
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gajim/main.py :

_MIN_NBXMPP_VER = '4.5.3'
_MIN_GTK_VER = '3.24.30'
_MIN_CAIRO_VER = '1.16.0'
_MIN_PYGOBJECT_VER = '3.42.0'
_MIN_GLIB_VER = '2.66.0'
_MIN_PANGO_VER = '1.50.0'
_MIN_SQLITE_VER = '3.33.0'

Bug#1060856: gajim: needs gtk3 >= 3.24.30 (found 3.24.24) to run, not reflected in dependencies

2024-01-15 Thread Christian Häggström
Package: gajim
Version: 1.8.4-1~bpo12+1
Severity: minor
X-Debbugs-Cc: debb...@kalvdans.no-ip.org

Dear Maintainer,

I upgraded gajim just to find that it didn't start afterwards. The Debian
metadata does not reflect the gtk3 version it needs.

A workaround is easy, I just update gtk3.

Bug#1030232: apt-get install -y should use noninteractive debconf frontend

We should fix the manual page because -y does not work for all prompts,
luckily, but also debconf is not part of apt so like other hooks it
can prompt on its own.

Thanks for a quick answer, so -y only affects questions such as "The
following additional packages will be installed:" "Do you want to
continue?" ?

Perhaps the documentation could be worded:
   -y, --yes, --assume-yes
   Run non-interactively, assuming "yes" as answer to
unimportant questions. Abort

   in undesirable situations, such as changing a held
   package, trying to install an unauthenticated package or
removing an essential
   package. Does not affect prompts generated by hooks such as
debconf.

   Configuration Item:   APT::Get::Assume-Yes.

Job for owserver.service failed because the service did not take the steps
required by its unit configuration.
See "systemctl status owserver.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

It should be fixed by appending --foreground to the owserver options in

Bug#393824: moc: 'debian/rules clean' fails to unapply patches

2006-10-17 Thread Christian Häggström
Package: moc
Version: 2.4.0-2+b1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 4.9

When doing 'debuild' twice in a row in the same tree, the second time
it fails because 14_configure.patch cannot be reverted. I believe this
is due to that the configure script is being regenerated when the
package is built the first time.

Bug#331521: moc: Assertion fault in UI

2005-10-03 Thread Christian Häggström
Package: moc
Version: 2.3.2-1

In my filewindow I had searched for a string which limited the files
listed to two entries. When moc had played the current song and was
