Hello Roland, Thank you for your very kind answer. I installed glimpse, set the search tool to agrep and now have blazing fast results. I'd see this as configuration problem and not as a wishlist item. But a note in the man page would be nice; telling people to install glimpse when searching is slow. -- Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Christian Weiske -=≡ Geeking around in the name of science since 1982 ≡=-
Bug#1051544: ding: looking up words is very slow
Package: ding Version: 1.9-6 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, When starting ding and searching for a word, it takes several seconds to show the results. For example when searching for "lupe", the status bar shows > 8 results, 1979ms and this is on an Intel i7-6500U with SSD and no load. The command used is > tre-agrep -h -w -i -e "lupe" /usr/share/trans/de-en My settings are "0 errors" and "simple search". tre-agrep is specifically built to find wrongly written words, but since "0 errors" is selected, normal grep should be used. If you have problems with combination of packages in a LaTeX document, please consult your local TeX User Group, the comp.text.tex user group, the author of the original .sty file, or any other help resource. In particular, bugs that are related to up-upstream, i.e., neither Debian nor TeX Live (upstream), but the original package authors, will be closed immediately. *** The Debian TeX Team is *not* a LaTeX Help Desk *** If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries (latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the error in your report. Please run your example with (pdf)latex -recorder ... (or any other program that supports -recorder) and send us the generated file with the extension .fls, it lists all the files loaded during the run and can easily explain problems induced by outdated files in your home directory. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures! If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem), you can probably minimize it further. Bug#928749: mitmproxy: font not served in mitmweb
Hi, The missing font-awesome css file makes it nearly impossible to install the mitmproxy root certificate on devices, because the links to the systems ("apple", "windows", "android", "other") are not clickable. Without that links, there is no way to reach that page and install the certificate. I had to use my browser's inspector to make the links visible by adding text in addition to the font. This is not possible on mobile devices, thus rendering the mitm.it URL unusable for certificate installation. -- Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Christian Weiske -=≡ Geeking around in the name of science since 1982 ≡=-

Bug#917819: jameica: MySQL not usable #2
Package: jameica Version: 2.8.2+dfsg-6 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I would like to use Jameica/Hibiscus with my MySQL server because I have a central hibiscusserver instance running in my home server. In bug #908618 you already fixed this issue by adding libmysql-java as dependency. Unfortunately, commit cd956753 changed this to libmariadb-java, which does not seem to be supported by Hibiscus itself (the wiki only mentions MySQL, and has no entries about mariadb). So now when trying to use > database.driver=de.willuhn.jameica.hbci.server.DBSupportMySqlImpl in .config/jameica/cfg/de.willuhn.jameica.hbci.rmi.HBCIDBService.properties, I get an error: > java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: loader.jameica: > class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver I guess until Hibiscus itself brings support for libmariadb-java, this package needs to depend on libmysql-java. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages jameica depends on: ii libactivation-java1.2.0-2 ii libbcpkix-java1.60-1 ii libbcprov-java1.60-1 ii libcommons-cli-java 1.4-1 ii libcommons-collections3-java 3.2.2-2 ii libcommons-lang-java 2.6-8 ii libcommons-logging-java 1.2-2 ii libeclipse-core-commands-java 3.9.200+eclipse4.10-1 ii libeclipse-core-runtime-java 3.15.100+eclipse4.10-1 ii libeclipse-jface-databinding-java 1.8.400+eclipse4.10-1 ii libeclipse-osgi-java 3.13.200+eclipse4.10-1 ii libeclipse-ui-forms-java 3.7.400+eclipse4.10-1 ii libequinox-common-java3.10.200+eclipse4.10-1 ii libgeronimo-annotation-1.3-spec-java 1.0-1 ii libh2-java1.4.197-4 ii libicu4j-java 62.1-1 ii libistack-commons-java3.0.6-3 ii libjameica-datasource-java2.8.1+dfsg-3 ii libjameica-util-java 2.8-2 ii libjaxb-api-java 2.3.1-1 ii libjaxb-java 2.3.0.1-7 ii libmariadb-java 2.3.0-1 ii libnanoxml2-java 2.2.3.dfsg-6 ii libpaperclips-java1.0.4-2 ii libswt-cairo-gtk-4-jni4.10.0-1 ii libswtcalendar-java 0.5-2 ii libtxw2-java 2.3.0.1-7 ii velocity 1.7-5 jameica recommends no packages. jameica suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#712564: spamassassin: Add feature to run spamassassin as debian-spamd user
Hi, > When spamassassin is running in daemon mode (spamd) as root, > the default behaviour is to setuid to the user running spamc. This > lets spamd to load and examine the per-user configuration files as > the user. So by default, the effective UID is sent to spamd from > spamc. This is only necessary when you have a 1:1 mapping between email recipients and users on the system, and not at all useful when there is a virtual user setup via database or MySQL. Even if you are in a non-virtual setup, the question is if users really use their own configuration files for spamassassin, or if they rather rely on the admin to configure SA correctly. If the main usage scenario of spamassassin on debian installations is virtual user databases, then the default could be changed to let spamd run the children as debian-spamd. I adjusted /etc/default/spamassassin and ajusted OPTIONS: OPTIONS="--username=debian-spamd --group debian-spamd ..." -- Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen Christian Weiske -=≡ Geeking around in the name of science since 1982 ≡=-

Bug#639268: [php-maint] Bug#639268: [PATCH] Handle .phar (and .bz2|.gz|.zip) with PHP
Hello Thijs, I'm missing why we would want Apache to handle the phar file directly. If it's an archive, don't you want to download it instead of execute it in the web server context? Thanks, but this does not really answer my question? I didn't see your question until I read the bug, sorry. PHAR archives can be used to distribute full web applications with all dependencies included, so that you only have to put it in your web server's document root and access it via your browser. Specifically to support this, phar has a feature called web index file in the phar stub[1]. It gets called whenever the phar is executed through a HTTP request. So it makes sense to let PHP handle phar files (and their compressed versions) directly, without extracting them. More information about phar can be found on [2].
