Bug#829309: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: Crashes and lockups in kernel 4.x
Package: src:linux Version: 3.16.7-ckt25-2+deb8u2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, with bpo kernels 4.2 to 4.6, I recently had several crashes. In two cases I got a kernel bug (log included below). In two other cases the system locked up completely. It might be related to my old Radeon card (HD 2400 pro). With kernel 4.6 I had both cases: a lockup without kernel log and a crash with log. I'm now back to kernel 3.16 which is absolutely stable. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.861691] BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at c045f900 Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.861791] IP: [] ttm_bo_man_put_node+0x23/0x50 [ttm] Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.861885] PGD 1a09067 PUD 1a0b067 PMD 2256d1067 PTE 8000ca6db161 Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.861969] Oops: 0003 [#1] SMP Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.862012] Modules linked in: xfs(E) libcrc32c(E) rpcsec_gss_krb5(E) auth_rpcgss(E) nfsv4(E) dns_resolver(E) nfs(E) lockd(E) grace(E) sunrpc(E) fscache(E) bridge(E) stp(E) llc(E) binfmt_misc(E) btrfs(E) xor(E) raid6_pq(E) it87(E) hwmon_vid(E) snd_hda_codec_hdmi(E) firewire_sbp2(E) joydev(E) evdev(E) snd_usb_audio(E) snd_usbmidi_lib(E) snd_rawmidi(E) snd_seq_device(E) snd_hda_codec_realtek(E) snd_hda_codec_generic(E) amdkfd(E) kvm_amd(E) kvm(E) snd_hda_intel(E) irqbypass(E) snd_hda_codec(E) snd_hda_core(E) serio_raw(E) pcspkr(E) radeon(E) amd64_edac_mod(E) edac_mce_amd(E) snd_hwdep(E) k10temp(E) snd_pcm_oss(E) snd_mixer_oss(E) edac_core(E) snd_pcm(E) snd_timer(E) snd(E) sp5100_tco(E) ttm(E) i2c_piix4(E) soundcore(E) r8169(E) sg(E) mii(E) drm_kms_helper(E) wmi(E) drm(E) i2c_algo_bit(E) fjes(E) shpchp(E) 8250_fintek(E) acpi_cpufreq(E) tpm_tis(E) fuse(E) tpm(E) button(E) processor(E) md_mod(E) parport_pc(E) ppdev(E) lp(E) parport(E) loop(E) dm_crypt(E) ext4(E) ecb(E) lrw(E) gf128mul(E) glue_helper(E) ablk_helper(E) cryptd(E) aes_x86_64(E) crc16(E) jbd2(E) crc32c_generic(E) mbcache(E) hid_generic(E) usbhid(E) hid(E) sr_mod(E) cdrom(E) sd_mod(E) ata_generic(E) ohci_pci(E) ahci(E) pata_atiixp(E) libahci(E) firewire_ohci(E) firewire_core(E) crc_itu_t(E) ohci_hcd(E) ehci_pci(E) ehci_hcd(E) libata(E) usbcore(E) scsi_mod(E) usb_common(E) dm_mirror(E) dm_region_hash(E) dm_log(E) dm_mod(E) autofs4(E) Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.863638] CPU: 2 PID: 1723 Comm: Xorg Tainted: GE 4.6.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 #1 Debian 4.6.1-1~bpo8+1 Jul 1 12:14:19 kilauea kernel: [47825.863749] Hardware name: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Bug#744105: audacity: Audacity burns CPU time
Package: audacity Version: 2.0.5-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, When idle, Audacity uses about 2% CPU time needlessly. It doesn't matter whether freshly started or after closing projects. strace shows the following repeated endlessly: recvmsg(3, 0x7fffc8a25860, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) poll([{fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN|POLLPRI}, {fd=9, events=POLLIN}, {fd=8, events=POLLIN|POLLPRI}], 5, 0) = 0 (Timeout) recvmsg(3, 0x7fffc8a25860, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) poll([{fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN|POLLPRI}, {fd=9, events=POLLIN}, {fd=8, events=POLLIN|POLLPRI}], 5, 16) = 0 (Timeout) So the timeout should probably be much higher, especially when no project is loaded. Bug#496443: vux: Incorrect signal handling
Hi, Can you give me more information, like what vuxctl commands cause the problem? I haven't tested all, but I think all, becaus every command sent causes a signal which interrupts the wait. Bug#496443: vux: Incorrect signal handling
Package: vux Version: 0.4.9 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi, when sending a command to vux via vuxctl, vux spawns a new player which results in multiple songs playing or waiting to be played simultaneously. Bug#291343: moosic: Select songs by length
Package: moosic Version: 1.5.1-1 Severity: wishlist Hi, it would be nice if the moosic command could select songs based on their length, eg. moosic --longer 1:00 --shorter 8:00 play This way, songs that are too short (intros etc.) or too long would be omitted.
