Bug#1012286: RFS: zig/0.9.1-1 [ITP] -- Programming language
Hi Submitter and all, It has been almost a year since the last activity on this Request For Sponsorship (RFS). Is there still interest in the packaging of zig by the submitter or others, or can this RFS be closed and the Intent To Package (ITP) be returned (retitled) to Request For Package (RFP) status? Bug#1068724: RFS: gensync/2.0.5-1 [ITP] -- a library for efficient synchronization of data over a network.
Hi, Thank you for your interest in Debian. Before I commit further time to this Request For Sponsorship (RFS) submission. Could you elaborate on where version 2.0.5 comes from? The linked git repository[1] 'README.md' states version '2.0.4'. If you do some digging into the git repository tags[2], the latest version is '1.0.4'. If you look into the branch 'colosseum', which looks like it has the/a codebase in it, there is no version in 'README.md' or elsewhere. Bug#1064876: RFS: openjph/0.10.3-1 [Team] -- HTJ2K image compression/decompression library (documentation files)
Hi, Thank you for giving your time and updating this package for Debian. A quick review of the package indicates the below that may require work. * Spelling error at line 802 of file: 'src/core/codestream/ojph_codestream_local.cpp'. 'indivdual' should be 'individual'. Can be simply patched locally and reported upstream if necessary. * .devcontainer/devcontainer.json is 'MIT' license not 'BSD-2'. * In 'debian/copyright'. License is 'BSD-2-clause' not 'BSD-2'. - See: https://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/ Regards Phil -- Website: https://kathenas.org Instagram: https://instagram.com/kathenasorg/ Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/kathenasorg signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

The final straw was when it came to picom on a basic configuration triggered higher CPU usage and my fan to turn on and never turn off every time I started vscode. Closing vscode left the fan running, but I was not interested in debugging it. In my experience also, compton 1 is an easier and more stable package in Debian than picom. For this reason I have decided to adopt it as it replaces the also flaky in-built compositor of xfce for me. The package will have the deprecation/removal warning in 'd/control' removed; and addition to 'oldlibs' removed. Other updates will take place to the packaging to bring it up to today's Debian. This package has value and will be maintained by myself accordingly. If you have any bugs with Debian's compton. Please file bugs against the package and I will look at them. [1] The 'Recommends' will be removed. These are separate X11 compositors. Regards Phil -- Playing the game for the games sake. I will want to move them, hopefully under 'debian' at some point in the near future. Apostolos, I am happy to mentor you where I can if you wish to purse further contribution to the Debian project. I am nearly always at the end of my email, so do not hesitate to contact me. In the future you may wish to become the primary maintainer for these packages and I would be very happy to help you reach that goal. In error I saw this email and assumed I had upload also, so I daftly removed the package from mentors. It all works out for the best, I will change it to target the experimental pocket as you point out is correct for such transitions and do another RFS. Bug#871443: ITA: nanomsg -- nanomsg socket library that provides several common communication patterns
retitle 871443 ITA: nanomsg -- nanomsg socket library that provides several common communication patterns owner 871443 ! thanks Hi, I am interested in 'nanomsg' and would like to adopt it and remove a small part of the QA Teams workload from them. I am the Debian Maintainer (DM) of rednotebook, filezilla and libfilezilla, so maintaining similar package types is familiar to me. I am also currently in progress of adopting 'bglibs'. Plans: Initially I will bring the package up to date and inline with Debians current practices and standards. After, I will offer the package long term maintenance as I do with all other packages under my wing. Regards Phil -- Playing the game for the games sake. I am the Debian Maintainer (DM) of rednotebook, filezilla and libfilezilla, so maintaining similar package types is familiar to me. Two of the most recent uploaders/sponsors of this package Bastian Germann and Gianfranco Costamagna I hope would support my adoption of this package.
