Bug#321732: GDM does not Shutdown before Return is pressed twice

2008-01-20 Thread Christophe Alonso
I have a similar bug here on Sony Vaio laptop, I think.

If I want shutdown gnome session, I have to press return key twice.

I am using Etch with the -686 kernel.

Could you be more explicit? How are you shutting down the machine
exactly? When do you need to press the return key twice?

What versions of the gnome-related packages do you have installed?

For example when I need to restart X session. I do it with Ctrl+Alt
+Return. Nothing happens if I don't press twice the Return key.

It is a standard etch intallation, last updated.

Sorry, I still don’t understand. Ctrl+Alt+Return ?

In all cases, we don’t fix normal bugs in the stable release unless they
are a major usability issue. Could you check whether this still happens
with unstable?

Thanks,

So do I. I thought it is a standard keys combination for restart X
session, isn't it ?

Well, it is my wife's laptop, not sure she will agree I dist-upgrade it
just for a normal bug.

 Thanks,

Bug#321732: GDM does not Shutdown before Return is pressed twice

2005-08-07 Thread Felix H. Dahlke
Package: gdm
Version: 2.6.0.8

When I want to shutdown the computer with gdm, it switches to the first vterm,
and down at the login prompt stands [37:2R.
At this point, I have to press the return key twice to make the computer
shutdown. I waited about 2 hours, there is really nothing happening.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux sarge, kernel 2.6.8-2-k7
