Bug#500685: dh-make-perl: Checks ./debian too late in the process
Package: dh-make-perl Version: 0.47 Severity: normal After a long search using apt-file dh-make-perl stops due to the existence of ./debian. This check for an existing debian directory should happen earlier to avoid a long wait for nothing. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.3 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.utf8) Versions of packages dh-make-perl depends on: ii debhelper 7.0.10 helper programs for debian/rules ii dpkg-dev 1.14.16.6 package building tools for Debian ii fakeroot 1.9.5 Gives a fake root environment ii libemail-date-format-perl 1.002-1Module to generate RFC-2822-valid ii libmodule-depends-perl0.14-1 identify the dependencies of a dis ii libwww-mechanize-perl 1.34-2 Automate interaction with websites ii libyaml-perl 0.62-1.1 YAML Ain't Markup Language (tm) ii make 3.81-2 The GNU version of the make util ii perl 5.10.0-13 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii perl-modules [libpod-parser-p 5.10.0-13 Core Perl modules Versions of packages dh-make-perl recommends: ii apt-file 2.1.5 APT package searching utility -- c ii libmodule-build-perl 0.2808.01-2 Subclassable and make-independent ii perl-modules [libmodule-buil 5.10.0-13 Core Perl modules -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Good question, but in general I agree with the bug reporter that there's not much sense in first running all the extract_* procedures and then 'die' anyway. Cheers, gregor -- .''`. It was simply a mistake :-) I wasn't trying to do anything special, just forgot to remove the old hand-written ./debian before running dh-make-perl to reset everything from scratch. I wasn't looking for refresh behaviour, rather replace/restart. Cheers, Mark. -- Mark Lawrence -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? I'm committing a small change to our SVN repository that moves up the check a bit. Thanks for reporting this glitch! Cheers, gregor -- .''`.
