Bug#722193: flightgear: fails to start because of denedency on libosgText.so.100

Iikes! I'm sorry, I compiled on a machine with a slightly newer OpenSceneGraph library (3.2.0 rather than 3.2.0~rc1). I'll recompile and upload, again. Sorry for the hassle. To solve this bug I would recommend to reassign it to the 'release.debian.org' package (and adjust title and severity) and ask for a binnmu (see [0] for details). No, please _do not_ reassign the bug. flightgear is RC-buggy until a fixed package is in the archive and this bug is documentation of that fact - leave this bug as it is, report a new bug asking for the binNMU, once the binNMU is available this bug can then be closed. Further more, a simple recompilation might not be enough or rather worsens the problem, because if we link against the .99 libraries, we need run into the same issue as soon as 3.2.0 is out. (The problem is that openscenegraph's rc libraries are not compatible to the release ones. They change their major from 99 to 100...) I think flightgear (and simgear) should better Break against 3.2.0~rc1 and be compiled against 3.2.0. Unfortunately, that's not in the archive, yet, and I didn't get no answer from the openscenegraph, yet. But their git repo is up to 3.2.0. I'm just not sure what holds the back from an upload. Put another way: this effectively is an issue with openscenegraph. Please fix that, rather than NMU flightgear (and simgear). That didn't work - there are reverse dependencies. Seems like gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg needs to be fixed. The rdepends should be ported to GStreamer 1.0 instead probably. Also most of these rdepends should at most Recommend the package. Sure, ideally they would be ported to use GStreamer 1.0 instead. But I'd rather not add yet another transition on top of the libav transition. I've started to backport the necessary changes for libav 9 from gst-libav1.0. I'm at a state where it compiles and appreciate another pair of eyes looking over it as the patch got really large. From skipping over it this patch looks good, you only remove support for paletted video formats and also some more changes are necessary to convert from the planar audio formats that are output by some decoders now to an interleaved audio format. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Bug#722661: dvb-apps and dtv-scan-tables: error when trying to install together
Hi Ralf, On 13/09/13 07:23, Ralf Treinen wrote: automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has detected the following problem: [...] This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug. Thanks for the bug report. This was expected; the scan files are being split out from dvb-apps into a separate dtv-scan-tables package. I was reluctant to make changes to dvb-apps because I didn't know how long dtv-scan-tables would spend in the NEW queue. dtv-scan-tables is in unstable now, so hope to fix up the dvb-apps package in a few days when I return from holidays. Thank you for this information. Note that ekiga does not yet work with opal/experimental, so opal cannot go to unstable right now. Would it be possible to backport the libav 9 fixes for now? I found some patches on the web that make it compile, but they don't fix plugins/video/common/dyna.cxx which uses dlopen/dlsym to look up the (old) libav symbols (thankfully this is properly fixed in experimental). From what I can tell it might be enough to just replace the loading and calls to Fav* in FFMPEGLibrary with plain calls of av* functions. It is on my TODO list, but I am in short time currently... Please give me all the pointers you have. My plan is to backport the related changes from experimental version to unstable/testing version. I gave it a try and ended up with the attached patch. What do you think of it? I tested it on my development machine and it works. Do you mind uploading it yourself? Great, thanks for testing it! I can do the upload. Would you mind if I upload it to DELAYED/0 instead of a higher delay? Regards -- Sebastian Ramacher signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#722694: Kernel change for #685407 breaks GlusterFS when on ext4 bricks
Package: glusterfs-server Version: 3.2.7-3 Severity: grave Tags: upstream fixed-upstream patch Control: fixed -1 3.4.0-4 Hi Patrick Note: I have choosen the severity as 'grave' as it makes GlusterFS not usable under Debian Wheezy when GlusterFS used on ext4 bricks. I'm also Cc'ing Jonathan Nieder and Ben Hutchings (at least to have both informed). Linux Kernel package linux/3.2.46-1 introduced the following change: [ Jonathan Nieder ] * ext3,ext4,nfsd: dir_index: Return 64-bit readdir cookies for NFSv3 and 4 (Closes: #685407) These are the patches: # 64-bit NFS readdir cookies on ext3/ext4 with dir_index bugfix/all/fs-add-new-FMODE-flags-FMODE_32bithash-and-FMODE_64b.patch bugfix/all/ext4-return-32-64-bit-dir-name-hash-according-to-usa.patch bugfix/all/nfsd-rename-int-access-to-int-may_flags-in-nfsd_open.patch bugfix/all/nfsd-vfs_llseek-with-32-or-64-bit-offsets-hashes.patch bugfix/all/ext3-return-32-64-bit-dir-name-hash-according-to-usa.patch This kernel change and it's consequences for GlusterFS are mentioned in [1], where RedHat hat also this issue which reflects in the bugreport[2]. There is a patch backported to 3.3 which I have applied to test on 3.2.7 in wheezy[3,4,5]. Now after updating the kernel on the servers holding the glusterfs from linux/3.2.41-2+deb7u2 to linux/3.2.46-1+deb7u1 in consequence I cannot list anymore the GlusterFS content; a find over it loops infinitively on getdents system calls and consumes memory. I have used the attached patch to test, but as it's not my knowledge aerea, so needs some review if something is missing. I have tested the following setups: wheezy + glusterfs/3.2.7-3 + linux/3.2.41-2+deb7u2 - ok wheezy + glusterfs/3.2.7-3 + linux/3.2.46-1+deb7u1 - broken wheezy + glusterfs/3.2.7-3 + patch + linux/3.2.46-1+deb7u1 - ok unstable + glusterfs/3.4.0-4 + linux/3.10.7-1 - ok So right now with current given kernel in Wheezy GlusterFS on ext4 bricks is broken, so needs an update trough a stable proposed update if possible. For those coming here in search of help: CONFIG_DEVTMPFS=y CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT=y (might not be necessary, not sure) As I wrote earlier, CONFIG_DEVTMPFS=y is mandatory now and it needs something which mounts the devtmps. Usually it is done by the initramfs (in Debian both dracut and initramfs-tools work fine) and if you don't use and initramfs for whatever reason, you'll need CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT=y, so the kernel mounts the devtmpfs for you. Note that /etc/init.d/udev chacks for tmpfs to be mounted on / and mounts it, if not. If you change this to check for and mount devtmpfs, it still works without CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT, only CONFIG_DEVTMPFS is still needed. This should increase compatibility with a number of self-compiled kernels, since the kernel default for CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT still seems to be No. You also could suggest to set devtmpfs.mount=1 on the kernel commandline instead. Yeah, CONFIG_DEVTMPFS is always needed. This should increase compatibility with a number of self-compiled kernels, since the kernel default for CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT still seems to be No. You also could suggest to set devtmpfs.mount=1 on the kernel commandline instead. The Debian kernel doesn't set CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT since it relies on the initramfs to mount it. I haven't tested the SysV init script. I think what it currently does, i.e. mounting a tmpfs, is not sufficient: tmpfs != devtmpfs. So if you use no initramfs, you'll need CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT (at least for now) Regards, Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth? signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#722707: Acknowledgement (scribus files corrupted after save)
Further to my initial report, I thought perhaps the problem might be related to the particular changes I made to the two files. However it turns out that it is not. Further testing revealed that simply saving an unchanged file resulted in the same problem. I restored a file from my backup, opened it in Scribus and saved it without making any changes. I closed Scribus and opened the file again but got the error An error occured while parsing file at line 2039, column 5888 : unexpected end of file. Here's the output from diff. Bug#722658: ruby-god: god depends on ruby-god but ruby-god breaks god
On 13 September 2013 03:50, Sébastien Delafond sdelaf...@gmail.com wrote: On Sep/13, Jeremy Bicha wrote: Package: ruby-god Version: 1.6.2-1 Severity: serious User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com Usertags: origin-ubuntu saucy ruby-god should break/replace god ( 0.13.2-3). Without the versioning, god is uninstallable. Indeed, god has been removed from the archive (both unstable and testing), so I don't believe this bug report is valid unless I'm missing something. It is a valid bug. Someone who has 'god' installed in Debian Wheezy will need a transitional package in Debian Jessie to get upgraded to ruby-god. However, the transitional package is uninstallable so this won't work. See Method 2 of https://wiki.debian.org/Renaming_a_Package (since Method 1 doesn't really work). Bug#722653: mozc: FTBFS with ibus 1.5
According to the build log, this issue is caused by the recent change of gyp. https://code.google.com/p/gyp/source/browse/trunk/gyp?r=1667 build_mozc.py has internally called gyp as 'python /usr/bin/gyp'. This was OK because /usr/bin/gyp was a python script. However, gyp r1667 replaced /usr/bin/gyp with a bash script. Then 'python /usr/bin/gyp' now results in a syntax error. I guess you can simply get rid of 'sys.executable' from build_mozc.py at the following line to solve this issue. https://code.google.com/p/mozc/source/browse/trunk/src/build_mozc.py?r=124#610 - command_line = [sys.executable, gyp_command, + command_line = [gyp_command, Hope this helps.

Bug#617613: freecad: Remaining licensing issues
On Fri, 13 Sep 2013 00:51:28 +0200 Teemu Ikonen wrote: Hi All, Hello Teemu, thanks for following up on this bug! Note that SoQt is now licensed with a 3-clause BSD license, see: https://bitbucket.org/Coin3D/soqt/overview Good, this solves one of the remaining issues. If the latest FreeCAD is really GPL-free, then uploads of SoQt mercurial head and FreeCAD should be enough to fix this bug. I agree. Unfortunately, it seems that neither of these packages has an active maintainer. That's really unfortunate, I hope that someone from debian-science (or from elsewhere) is willing to adopt them... Bug#720262: do you need help?

Haven't looked at actual code yet, but can do so if relevant. Do you need help here? Thank you for offering your help. I would very much appreciate it. I have very limited time lately, and any help would be great. Would you perhaps be interested in team-maintenance? Yes I am. I think that uwsgi packaging will benefit from it. Excellent! I have looked into this bug today, and seems I succeeded, so will propably upload in a moment. Nice packaging you've done! And using CDBS, so seems we are a perfect match :-) NB! Bug#720618: non-free license statement in /usr/share/inkscape/icons/inkscape.svg
On Sun, Aug 25, 2013 at 10:05:20PM +0200, Luca BRUNO wrote: Perhaps you can clarify this with the Inkscape authors ? Maybe they intended GPL-2 anyway... I don't think so. The logo was contributed by jimmac and originally under CC. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/345778 Severity: serious that the Inkscape icon contains a statement suggesting that its license is CC-BY-SA 2.0. This is unfortunate, as Debian's FTP team does not consider it Free. I'm unsure about this. I remember an old thread on -project where it was found that clause 4b of CC-BY-SA 2.0 allows upgrading to later version, and several packages already fit in that case. I think we are in the same case. Moreover, I can still get in touch with jimmac and ask for a license change, or just apply clause 4b upstream. 4b only applies to derivitive works. 2013/9/1 Fabian Greffrath fab...@greffrath.com: In the patch for debian/rules the quotation marks have to get escaped. This somehow got lost by attaching it to my mail. Sorry for the delay but I'm quite busy at the moment. I will try to review and get this new patch integrated soonish. Thanks. Cheers. -- Manuel A.
