For reference: The removal bug against echoping was
https://bugs.debian.org/1002897 and ultimately the removal was on 2022-01-02,
according to https://ftp-master.debian.org/removals-2022.txt

Since echoping is optional in smokeping and I'm glad to confirm that
package otherwise does what it's supposed to do, the fix is trivial, so
here we go:
Dear maintainer,
to fix the issues with this package, I've prepared an NMU for smokeping
(versioned as 2.7.3-4.2), debdiff below. An upload to DELAYED/5 will
follow shortly. Please feel free to tell me if I should delay it
longer.
