Hi,
I've been looking for a brief description on how to get a
workstation with a debian derivate (here mx-/av-linux) to act like a
normal debianedu workstation with home directories, user login to
ldap, etc.
As I didn't find anything, started with installing tasksel and
education-tasks. Then started tasksel and chose 'Debian Edu
networked workstation packages'.
for ldap server I chose 'ldap://10.0.2.2/'
-> ldaps://ldap.intern
To verify the LDAP connection, download the Debian-Edu_rootCA.crt from:
https://www.intern/Debian-Edu_rootCA.crt
defaultsearchbase "dc=skole,dc=skolelinux,dc=no
yes!
real for Kerberos 'goKrbRealm'
-> INTERN
Later on add this to /etc/krb5.conf:
[domain_realm]
.intern = INTERN
intern = INTERN
kerberos server for realm '10.0.2.2'
kerberos.intern
administration server for realm '10.0.2.2'
kerberos.intern
Am I right so far?
Nope, see above.
next should be name resolving services, but which to choose?
In /etc/resolv.conf, please put:
nameserver 10.0.2.2
search intern
(or properly configure /etc/systemd/resolved.conf if you use that)
Any hints on this an on the upcoming next parameters?
Would be nice, if defaults matching for tjener were offered.
This is true, indeed. However, those dialogs come from the individual
client packages in Debian, so offering Debian Edu defaults would
required applying some preseeding before installing those packages.
See here for more preseeding values:
