Version: 4.2-1~exp1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Installing Debian jessie or sid on an Intel Compute Stick (STCK1A32WFC),
a miniature amd64 system based on the Atom Z3735F system-on-chip

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Tried to use the external Micro SDXC socket, which should appear as
   /dev/mmcblk1

   * What was the outcome of this action?
/dev/mmcblk1 does not exist, only /dev/mmcblk0 (the internal eMMC)

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
   /dev/mmcblk1 exists and is usable.

I tried the following kernel packages which all present the same problem:
linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64
linux-image-4.0.0-2-amd64
linux-image-4.1.0-2-amd64
linux-image-4.2.0-trunk-amd64

Suggested fix:

After some research into similar platforms I tried rebuilding the
kernel package with the CONFIG_PINCTRL_BAYTRAIL option enabled. This
resolved the issue. It appears to enable some kind of memory-mapped
GPIO that is required to set up or use the external MicroSD socket.

I have successfully tried this fix on the 4.0.0 and 4.1.0 kernel
packages from the unstable repository and 4.2.0 from the experimental
repository. It does not work on 3.16.0 as the config option was
introduced in kernel version 3.19.

Package: src:linux

Severity: important

The patch
"bugfix/all/firmware_class-log-every-success-and-failure.patch" was
incorrectly rebased onto 3.13, causing the firmware loader to continue
looping over the firmware search path after successfully loading
firmware. (It would also leak memory.) This was not noticed because
firmware is usually loaded from /lib/firmware which is at the end of
the path.

This bug is present in jessie and later suites.

Ben.

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

linux-image-4.2.0-1-octeon panics on boot on an EdgeRouter Pro
(UBNT_E200) board, because of a missing workaround:

[1.001113] Kernel panic - not syncing: OCTEON II DCache prefetch workaround
not in place (cfac).
[1.001113] Please build kernel with proper options (CONFIG_CAVIUM_CN63XXP1).

Enabling CONFIG_CAVIUM_CN63XXP1 indeed solves the problem. Note that the
workaround has been there for a long time, but the lack of it triggers a
panic on affected boards only since 4.1.

Regards,
Apollon

Bug#805710: nfs-common: NFS mounts don't work because nfs-common starts before rpcbind.service

2015-11-21 Thread Michal Kašpar
Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.2.8-9
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
NFS mounts don't work on systemd enabled systems because nfs-common is
started before rpcbind. If nfs-common is restarted after boot, the
mounts start to work fine. In log files I see:
nfs-common[1301]: Not starting: portmapper is not running ... (warning).

Bug#624343: A workaround for "bio too big device mdX (Y > Z)" issue

2015-11-21 Thread Roger Shimizu
As mentioned in my previous post, this issue should be fixed in Linux 4.3.

So I tried the same reproducing script, mentioned in previous post, on
linux-image 4.3.0-trunk-686-pae in experimental repo, and confirmed it
cannot be reproduced, without applying my previous workaround.

By a working workaround and fully fixed kernel in experimental repo, I
suggest this issue can be closed.
Thank you!

Cheers,
Roger

Bug#796882: hyperv-daemons: include debian specific versions of hv_get* scripts

Not acceptable. Stick to one language, not three. No new Python 2
stuff. No networkd support. PEP8 for the Python part.

This needs to be tristate output.

Bastian
