Pythia8::Pythia::readString(std::__cxx11::basic_stringchar,
std::char_traitschar, std::allocatorchar , bool)

This is used by root-system:
http://sources.debian.net/src/root-system/5.34.19%2Bdfsg-1.2/montecarlo/pythia8/src/TPythia8Decayer.cxx/?hl=31#L31
so yes a transition is needed.

Package: src:med-fichier
Version: 3.0.6-7
Severity: important
Tags: sid stretch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11

Background [1]: libstdc++6 introduces a new ABI to conform to the
C++11 standard, but keeps the old ABI to not break existing binaries.
Packages which are built with g++-5 from experimental (not the one
from testing/unstable) are using the new ABI. Libraries built from
this source package export some of the new __cxx11 or B5cxx11 symbols,
and dropping other symbols. If these symbols are part of the API of
the library, then this rebuild with g++-5 will trigger a transition
for the library.

What is needed:

 - Rebuild the library using g++/g++-5 from experimental. Note that
most likely all C++ libraries within the build dependencies need
a rebuild too. You can find the log for a rebuild in
 https://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc5-20150701/
Search for BEGIN GCC CXX11 in the log.

 - Decide if the symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 are part of the
library API, and are used by the reverse dependencies of the
   library.

 - If there are no symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 in the symbols
forming the library API, you should close this issue with a short
   explanation.

 - If there are no reverse dependencies, it should be the package
maintainers decision if a transition is needed. However this might
break software which is not in the Debian archive, and built
   against these packages.

 - If a library transition is needed, please prepare for the change.
Rename the library package, append v5 to the name of the package
   (e.g. libfoo2 - libfoo2v5). Such a change can be avoided, if you
have a soversion bump and you upload this version instead of the
renamed package. Prepare a patch and attach it to this issue (mark
this issue with patch), so that it is possible to NMU such a
package. We'll probably have more than hundred transitions
triggered. Then reassign the issue to release.debian.org and
properly tag it as a transition issue, by sending an email to
   cont...@bugs.debian.org:

 user release.debian@packages.debian.org
 usertag this issue + transition
 block this issue by 790756
 reassign this issue release.debian.org

 - If unsure if a transition is needed, please tag the issue with help
to ask for feedback from other Debian developers.

The libstdc++6 transition will be a large one, and it will come with a
lot of pain. Please help it by preparing the follow-up transitions.

Bug#794736: libvigraimpex: library transition is needed when GCC 5 is the default

2015-08-13 Thread Daniel Stender
We have a SONAME bump happening due to the Vigra 1.10.0 transition [1] which
generally could let spare a v5 package when the two transitions would be
combined,
isn't it?

However, I think it's better to adopt what has been already changed for
1.10.0+dfsg-9ubuntu1
to update Vigra for 15.10 (renaming libvigraimpex5 to libvigraimpexv5 and
rebuild) - there's
really no need to avoid this.

We have some other serious issues open for Vigra (with the Lenna image set [2]
and test suite
problems in Mips), so I suggest we do it that way: I'm going to prepare a v5
1.9.0+dfsg-11
for unstable in the next days and check the reverse deps. After that we go for
a v5
1.10.0+dfsg-10 in experimental and check the reverse deps on that, that would
close the
stdc++6 transition as the next thing to do on Vigra.

Daniel

Bug#793833: Reducing the bug`s severity

2015-08-13 Thread Anton Gladky
severity 793833 minor
thanks

Hi I am reducing the bug`s severity, because
there is definitely the problem with the buildd,
which had not enough place to build the package.

Give-back should be requested.

Cheers

Anton

Package: src:syfi
Version: 1.0.0.dfsg-1.2
Severity: important
Tags: sid stretch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11

There are no reverse dependencies. No transition needed.

Source: gmsh
Version: 2.8.5+dfsg-1.1

I was unable to build this from source on amd64. It went wrong near
the end:

make[1]: Leaving directory '/tmp/gmsh/gmsh-2.8.5+dfsg/debian/build'
   dh_install -O--buildsystem=cmake
-O--builddirectory=/tmp/gmsh/gmsh-2.8.5\+dfsg/debian/build -O--parallel
dh_install: libgmsh2 missing files (usr/lib/*/libjava-gmsh.so.*), aborting
debian/rules:12: recipe for target 'binary' failed

(There are files called libjava-gmsh.so but nothing with the version
suffix.)

It went wrong in exactly the same way, right at the end,
when I tried building on arm64 (for which I did
perl -i -pe 's/ amd64 / amd64 arm64 /;' debian/control
before running dpkg-buildpackage -b).

So, when you've fixed this, could you try enabling arm64 on the next
version, unless there's a good reason for not building this package on
architectures other than those listed?

Bug#794736: libvigraimpex: library transition is needed when GCC 5 is the default

2015-08-13 Thread Andreas Metzler
On 2015-08-13 Daniel Stender deb...@danielstender.com wrote:
We have a SONAME bump happening due to the Vigra 1.10.0 transition
[1] which generally could let spare a v5 package when the two
transitions would be combined, isn't it?

However, I think it's better to adopt what has been already changed
for 1.10.0+dfsg-9ubuntu1 to update Vigra for 15.10 (renaming
 libvigraimpex5 to libvigraimpexv5 and rebuild) - there's really no
 need to avoid this.

I think that is sensible., too.

We have some other serious issues open for Vigra (with the Lenna
image set [2] and test suite problems in Mips), so I suggest we do
it that way: I'm going to prepare a v5 1.9.0+dfsg-11 for unstable
in the next days and check the reverse deps. After that we go for a
v5 1.10.0+dfsg-10 in experimental and check the reverse deps on
that, that would close the stdc++6 transition as the next thing to
 do on Vigra.
[...]

I would suggest to make a v5 for /experimental/ ASAP to minimize
delay due to new processing.

cu Andreas

Hi Anton,

The python-admesh package currently build-depends on python3-all and
python3-dev (as well as python-all + python-dev). This is inconsistent, and
results in a build failure when there is more than one supported version of
python - because the package will try to build for multiple versions, but be
unable to find the C header files for the extensions.

The correct thing to do is to build-depend on either python3-all-dev +
python3-all, or python-dev + python.

Attached is a trivial patch to fix this issue. Note that the python3.5
transition is coming soon to Debian, at which point the severity of this bug
report would be raised to serious.

Thanks,

How can I meet some of you on the Linuxcon in Dublin ?

2015-08-13 Thread Roelof Berg
What is the best way to find out, who of our debian-science-maintainers
team will be on the Linuxcon in Dublin ? And how can I recognize a
debsci-fellow in the crowd ? Do we have a secret sign, like red hats or
big beards, bellys and bushy eye brows ?

This is an old file left over from a previous version. It can simply
be removed from the source. I'm doing this right now upstream.

 • src/Mod/Draft/* licensing is described as GPL-2+, while, for
instance, src/Mod/Draft/DraftTools.py seems to be LGPL-2+

As far as I can see, all files in src/Mod/Draft/ have the same LGPL2+
license. Can you point me at the file you are referring to?

Cheers

gmsh_2.9.3+dfsg1-2_ppc64el.changes is NEW

2015-08-13 Thread Debian FTP Masters
binary:libgmsh2v5 is NEW.

Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action
from the ftpteam to process. The upload was otherwise valid (it had a good
OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient.

Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel
free to browse the NEW queue[1].

If there is an issue with the upload, you will recieve an email from a
member of the ftpteam.

If you have any questions, you may reply to this email.

What do you mean by weak arch here? If you mean architectures with
unreliable or slow buildds then arm64 should be no weaker than armel
  and armhf.

mips, mipsel etc. arm64 has just been added and the bug
 will be closed shortly.

Thank you!

Bug#795394: libitpp: please make the build reproducible

2015-08-13 Thread Dhole
Source: libitpp
Version: 4.3.1-4
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: timestamps
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org

Hi,

While working on the reproducible builds effort [1], we have noticed
that libitpp could not be built reproducibly.

The attached patch replaces the timestamp in the docs with the latest
debian/changelog entry timestamp. Once applied, libitpp can be built
reproducibly in our current experimental framework.
