Bug#868992: python-ltfatpy: FTBFS on hurd-i386: No module named 'matplotlib._path'

2017-07-19 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: python-ltfatpy
Version: 1.0.9-1
Severity: important
Justification: fails to build from source

Thanks for taking care of #861094. Alas, the build of python-ltfatpy
on hurd-i386 (admittedly not a release architecture) is still failing:

  E ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'matplotlib._path'

I see that hurd-i386 still just has matplotlib 1.5.x, whereas the
other architectures have 2.x; please version the build dependencies on
python(3)-matplotlib accordingly.

Thanks!

Attached is a patch (to be dropped in debian/patches) that does that. It
should be compatible with the ocaml currently in unstable. Please upload
as soon as possible, to ease the future OCaml transition.

An explanation: files in ./src/xml2modelica are compiled with "-I
./src/modelica_compiler -I ./src/xml2modelica". The file linenum.cmx
exists in both directory, and compiling xMLParser.cmx picks up the wrong
linenum.cmx with the new version of ocaml.

A possible fix is to compile files in ./src/xml2modelica without the "-I
./src/modelica_compiler" option.

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.

Hi. Today I installed gnuplot5-qt to plot stuff. Then I tried to install
some other package that Depends:gnuplot, and it demanded that I then
install gnuplot5 also. Should this be necessary? I'm thinking that
we should have more Provides tags to make more things work without
requiring extra packages.

So anything that gives you a gnuplot that can make plots
(gnuplot{,5}-{nox,x11,qt}) should Provides:gnuplot. And gnuplot5-*
should Provides:gnuplot5. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks!

Bug#868894: find_package option COMPONENTS ineffective because of hard-coded includes in TrilinosConfig.cmake

2017-07-19 Thread Joachim Wuttke

Package: trilinos-dev
Version: 12.10.1-3

CMake's find_package takes an option COMPONENTS.
Usage with Trilinos seems to be documented nowhere,
but TrilinosConfig.cmake clearly is intended to
support e.g.
find_package(Trilinos REQUIRED COMPONENTS Epetra Belos Ifpack)

However, at the bottom of TrilinosConfig.cmake there
is a long list that includes all Trilinos subproject
CMake files. This overwrites the component selection,
and makes it ineffective: the client application will
depend on _all_ of Trilinois, not just on the selected
components.

Of course it should not.
But it does.

I don't think it is possible for trilinos to depend on both versions.

Trilinos 12.10.1-3 was built against libmumps-4.10.0 and is currently in
testing.

Trilinos 12.10.1-4 was built against libmumps-5.1.1 and is currently in
unstable. It should migrate to testing in a couple of days.

Note that libmumps-5.1.1 now ships files in the multiarch directories,
so your application my need to be changed to link against
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsmumps.so (or the equivalent for your
architecture).

Bug#868877: libgpuarray FTBFS on 32bit: error: '__int128' is not supported on this target

2017-07-19 Thread Adrian Bunk

   ^~~~
src/CMakeFiles/gpuarray.dir/build.make:696: recipe for target
'src/CMakeFiles/gpuarray.dir/util/integerfactoring.c.o' failed

The code is:

static uint64_t gaIMulMod(uint64_t a, uint64_t b, uint64_t m){
#if (__GNUC__ >= 4) && defined(__x86_64__) && !defined(__STRICT_ANSI__)
uint64_t r;

asm(

);

return r;
#elif (__GNUC__ > 4) || (__GNUC__ == 4 && __GNUC_MINOR__ >= 6)
/* Hardcore GCC 4.6+ optimization jazz */
return ((unsigned __int128)a * (unsigned __int128)b) % m;
#else
...

defined(__SIZEOF_INT128__) might be a suitable test
for __int128 support.

On a sidenote the amd64 assembler above is wrong and should be removed,
in addition to being buggy it just tries to do a 64bit
  return (a * b) % m;
