Bug#876841: python3-tables: Should not depend on python3-mock

2017-10-01 Thread Ben Finney
Package: python3-tables
Followup-For: Bug #876841
Control: retitle -1 python3-tables: Should not depend on python3-mock

I agree with the initial report.

The ‘python3-mock’ package may be needed for testing the build, so it
should be a “Build-Depends-Indep” relationship for the ‘pytables’
source package.

The binary package ‘python3-tables’ apparently does not use
‘python3-mock’ at all in the normal operation. So ‘python3-mock’
should not be a dependency of the binary package.

The ‘experimental’ suite is not a full Debian distribution (see
Developer's Reference §4.6.4.3.), which is why bug reports are not
closed by uploads to ‘experimental’.

Once a version that “Closes” this bug enters ‘unstable’ it will be
correct to close this bug report.

Since the bug is only fixed by a package in the ‘experimental’ staging
area, I've applied the ‘fixed-in-experimental’ tag to indicate it's
waiting for an upload to ‘unstable’.

‘spyder-doc’ package.

Please update the package description to match the correct transition.

Bug#832210: fabio-viewer: Section should not be “python”

2016-07-23 Thread Ben Finney
Package: fabio-viewer
Version: 0.3.0+dfsg-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

The section “python” is for packages that install the Python
programming language or libraries. Its packages are primarily of
interest only to Python programmers.

The package ‘fabio-viewer’ installs primarily an application, of
interest regardless of the programming language. It should not be in
the “python” section.

By the section descriptions, this package may belong in section
“graphics” or “science”.

Please set the field “Section” appropriately on this package.

Since the package is already in Debian with a different section, you
will also need to submit a request to override the existing section
<URL:https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ch05.en.html#override-file>.

Then mark this bug report as blocked by that new one, and be sure not
to close this one until that new one is completed.
