Bug#722451: Compiz team/package status.
Hi, 1. Compiz in Debian Yes, latest Compiz from Canonical will be in Debian 9. Upload is coming soon, Hypra paid for a Debian dev to do it. We choosed Compiz from Canonical because it's tested and mainstream. We don't use Compiz-reloaded (0.8), as so few users, plugins, etc. So yes, upload comes very soon (this month). 2. Compiz status 1st, be aware that the 1st upload will likely not work with Gnome 3.22. Usable with MATE and other desktops, but not Gnome. Patches come. Next, note that Canonical just maintains bugfixes now. It means that bugs like Gnome compatibility will be fixed, but this package is about dying for them (about 5 years). However, Hypra uses it with MATE for low-vision features. Then, Hypra will probably be the next biggest Compiz contributor through all features we plan. But of course, we'll love to be helped by community and to see this project a;ive. So far, we do pull request for Canonical and it's fine. Bug#842974: ITP: slop -- queries for a selection from the user and prints the region to stdout.
Just for your information, I have started packaging the `slop` package which `maim` optionally needs to select areas. You may want to add it to Recommends once the package passes NEW. Bug#842974: ITP: slop -- queries for a selection from the user and prints the region to stdout.
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "Antoine Beaupré"* Package name: slop Version : 4.3.21 Upstream Author : Dalton Nell * URL : https://github.com/naelstrof/slop * License : GPL-3 Programming Lang: C++ Description : queries for a selection from the user and prints the region to stdout. slop (Select Operation) is an application that queries for a selection from the user and prints the region to stdout. It grabs the mouse and turns it into a crosshair, lets the user click and drag to make a selection (or click on a window) while drawing a pretty box around it, then finally prints the selection's dimensions to stdout. Features: * Hovering over a window will cause a selection rectangle to appear over it. * Clicking on a window makes slop return the dimensions of the window. * Clicking and dragging causes a selection rectangle to appear, renders pretty well (compared to scrot). And will return the dimensions of that rectangle in absolute screen coords. * On startup it turns your cursor into a crosshair, then adjusts the cursor into angles as you drag the selection rectangle. * Supports simple arguments: * Change selection rectangle border size. * Select X display. * Set padding size, even negative padding sizes! * Set click tolerance for if you have a shaky mouse. * Set the color of the selection rectangles to match your theme! (Even supports transparency!) * Remove window decorations from selections. * Supports OpenGL hardware acceleration. * Supports textured themes. * Supports programmable shaders. * Supports a magnifying glass.

Bug#819195: OXM in Debian
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 Hi Samuel, Co-incidentally, I looked up just now to see on my package list. I'm still happy , that you've expressed interest to maintain OXM in Debian. Thanks. That said, the reason why I looked back at the package was to ask the FTP team for its removal from the archive. Because I don't think the old tool works any more. At least from what I recollect, it already had some intermittent issues back then, and in between XenServer changed its management interface. Do you intend to target OXM for Debian Jessie ? If you do not have a timeline, I'd like to remove the old version from the archive. OTOH, if you are already ready to refresh the package, please do it soon so that the newer version could be part of Debian Jessie. - -- Ritesh Raj Sarraf RESEARCHUT - http://www.researchut.com "Necessity is the mother of invention." -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJYGh7zAAoJEKY6WKPy4XVpaE4QAKng1nOMhh4tAceEUN2F/zoE lJEMGKTXEI1qfMoTXCz8U5r/kKuMBf8Yt2t8C8Ob+DOx/ETiZKdhxa8524jOKxNi 6H1jUc1ExMxiWXtsxnMcvs0r05RjwlzwjPct3etXrJLe/2urvbT6BjLUwx/9HVZw K/8YSQjKlChryVUL29C0M7uPhg6AcPoDJKPT35yUHImxHMg07dkrKNqR1IxpWOLl wFQeueyWOkSdwjV6051wJ/Y2kRfg6FR+trfdAHOvzRN8j0Yeo/atzl0yx99l3f0M z4oFyfPgxyCnQ2pndgpOf17i0U3qsUx0xxLKVrs33lxvRP2EqfwS7rq1AVSoensB a2PLzzWHx4wHjUI6Qu6NWJWW+SE71WbEBxdG6nsxZzeNHF6baKINpTGY6DBPUJlH 6MWlEIRLLhZVj1j6HjS7NI+dgAz6hl/c4oK7a/WuJuVKaGyD4VQDCuF0kcl/hEKm ZiPRaj3cfGam9qcqzmoS9haIaOer6WKCJ76bzgeeBMU+ZYKxzI5Kwo79aThjOpXt tNJyXS/wzGUBuY56/qltNd3UzREgDagKia1n1cVD0rIpuRoAzxnAOcdvUo3ON4tU bIFPpsg1XCt3N4yLsP/oQETcvdDVvuC0NbY4HyzBppP8xqtd13YEd4v07GAsDJ5V N6yCHIDOP53cM4PkSe4H =2z2y -END PGP SIGNATURE-
Bug#842968: O: system-storage-manager -- system storage management tool
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the system-storage-manager package. There aren't really any pressing issues as such, but development is almost stalled. And I don't see this tools relevance any more. It was supposed to be a unified storage tool, but not sure if we really need a single tool to support all available block types and file systems. The package description is: System Storage Manager provides an easy to use command line interface to manage your storage using various technologies like lvm, btrfs, encrypted volumes and more. . In more sophisticated enterprise storage environments, management with Device Mapper (dm), Logical Volume Manager (LVM), or Multiple Devices (md) is becoming increasingly more difficult. With file systems added to the mix, the number of tools needed to configure and manage storage has grown so large that it is simply not user friendly. With so many options for a system administrator to consider, the opportunity for errors and problems is large. . You should install the ssm if you need to manage your storage with various technologies via a single unified interface.

These tend to be moving goal posts. Post-analysis of VLBI sessions (and related space geodetic techniques) gives measurements of EOPs (which are unknown functions of time due to myriad torques applied to the earth by wind, ocean, other bodies, human activities etc.) The predictions are just that, an estimate at a point in time of the future evolution of these parameters which is subsequently obsoleted by the actual measurements. Hence packaging these predictions would be of little value, and by their nature, the further into the future one predicts, the less accurate they become. Bug#842935: ITP: casacore-data-tai-utc -- Difference table between TAI and UTC for casacore
Hi Jonathan, the original casacore package takes these data from usno; however after some discussion in debian-science I was convinced that tzdata is reliably enough for our use: https://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2016/10/msg00494.html Best regards Ole On 02.11.2016 13:37, Jonathan Quick wrote: > Hi Ole > > On Wed, November 2, 2016 2:08 pm, Ole Streicher wrote: >> Package: wnpp >> Severity: wishlist >> Owner: Ole Streicher>> X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-as...@lists.debian.org >> >> * Package name: casacore-data-tai-utc >> * License : BSD-2-Clause >> Description : Difference table between TAI and UTC for casacore >> >> This native package contains the leap second difference between TAI and >> UTC, created from /usr/share/zoneinfo/leap-seconds.list. Bug#842934: ITP: casacore-data-predict -- Earth orientation parameter prediction tables for casacore
Hi Jonathan, the package will for sure only contain the prediction for one moment and will be probably outdated when the package reaches the user. Bug#842936: ITP: casacore-data-observatories -- Table of radio observatory coordinates for casacore
Hi Jonathan, this package is just one of the standard tables that are available in casacore. Unfortunately, the original table is maintained in a somehow intransparent way at NRAO and ASTRON (looks both institutes maintain it separately), with no "source" available, and without a clear license attached. Also this original list seems to be old (2007?), buggy (f.e. https://github.com/casacore/casacore/issues/304), and incomplete (often some coordinates are missing). To have an open start here, I compiled a list of telescopes and their coordinates from Wikipedia. The list is obviously not very accurate yet, but I hope that we can improve that from public references as time goes. If you can point me to reference geolocations of the VLBI network observatories, that would be really helpful. However, for the effects you describe I am bound to what casacore can take (which is just a plain coordinates in WGS-84 and x/y/z).
