Bug#896130: RFP: vim-julia -- Vim plugin for Julia support

2018-04-19 Thread Francesco Poli (wintermute)
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: vim-julia
  Version : N/A
  Upstream Author : Carlo Baldassi and others
* URL : https://github.com/JuliaEditorSupport/julia-vim
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Vim script
  Description : Vim plugin for Julia support

julia-vim is a plugin for programming in Julia. It adds a number of useful
features to help you in writing Julia code.
.
The plugin provides:
* basic support for editing Julia files (automatic filetype detection,
  indentation, syntax highlighting)
* support for the matchit plugin
* support for Julia block-wise movements (i.e. jumping around between
  Julia blocks like if/end, function/end etc.) and block text-objects
* facilities for conversion of LaTeX entries to Unicode symbols which
  mimic and extend what the Julia REPL and the IJulia notebook
  interface do (optionally, this functionality can be used with all
  file types, not just Julia files)

I think this package may be useful to make the user's life easier,
while editing Julia code.
I hope someone will package and maintain it in Debian, it would
be really great. Thanks to anyone willing to do so!

servod-tools lets you use one or many Servo control board for
Chromebooks in some
kind of vaguely automated fashion. After installing these and
configuring for

your local boards, you should have access to the CPU UART as
/dev/google-servo/$devicename/cpu-uart, and the EC as
/dev/google-servo/$devicename/ec-uart, as well as having servod itself
listening for more complex commands on a predictable port.

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jon Sneyers

* Package name: flif
  Version : 0.2.0
  Upstream Author : Jon Sneyers
* URL : http://flif.info/
* License : Currently: GPLv3+ (encoder), LGPLv3+ (decoder)
(will probably change soon to more permissive license)
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Free Lossless Image Format (FLIF) encoder/decoder
 FLIF is a lossless image (and animation) format.
 It tends to compress better than other image compression formats.
 This is the reference implementation of the FLIF encoder/decoder.
 The command-line utility 'flif' converts FLIF to/from PNG or PNM.

The source package would have multiple binary packages:
- flif (command line tool)
- libflif (shared library)
- viewflif (simple image/animation viewer)
- gif2flif (shell script)
- apng2flif (shell script)

I am trying to put all necessary Debian packaging config files directly
in the upstream git repository, at: https://github.com/FLIF-hub/FLIF

Version 0.2.0 of flif has not actually been released yet, the most recent
version is 0.2.0rc5, which may or may not become 0.2.
At some point in February 2016, I expect to go from "release candidate" to
the actual "release".
This will be the first 'stable' release (in the sense that the file format
will remain compatible). I hope to have flif included in the Debian archive
when this release will be announced.

I am new at Debian packaging, so while I _think_ most of the packaging
work is done, it would help to have a more experienced co-maintainer
who can check and improve my effort at packaging.
Also I will certainly need a sponsor.

MAJOR FEATURES

Supports tiling multiple terminal windows side by side in different
layouts without needing to use an extra program like tmux

Supports all modern terminal features: graphics (images), unicode,
true-color, OpenType ligatures, mouse protocol, focus tracking,
bracketed paste and so on.

Supports startup sessions which allow you to specify the window/tab
layout, working directories and programs to run on startup.

Uses OpenGL for rendering, offloads rendering to the GPU for lower
system load and buttery smooth scrolling. Uses threaded rendering to
minimize input latency.

Cross-platform support: kitty currently works on Linux and macOS, but
because it uses only OpenGL for rendering, it should be trivial to port
to other platforms.

Allows you to open the scrollback buffer and window contents in a
separate window using arbitrary programs of your choice. This is useful
for browsing the history comfortably in a pager or editor and also for
doing things like opening URLs using only the keyboard.

Easily hackable (UI layer written in python, inner loops in C for
speed). Less than fifteen thousand lines of code.
