Bug#1041368: RFP: libsmacker -- C library for decoding .smk Smacker Video files

Hi,

I could package this to replace the copy vendored in fheroes2.

What did you needed it for ? ;-)

Greetings,

Bug#1016558: O: muse-el

2023-08-15 Thread Nicholas D Steeves
Hello,

Sorry for the delay, I hadn't realised that I had forgotten to actually
send this draft:

For sure, and also, it's been the default keyserver in Debian since 2019
(gnupg 2.2.17-1) ;) Yeah, I've also noticed pgp.mit.edu has gotten
slower and more unreliable than in the past. P.S. This might be a bit
pedantic, but doesn't your key have five redundant signatures that could
be deleted?

Hmm, it appears that these patches were forwarded to a fork. The Source
is set to git://repo.or.cz/muse-el.git (debian/and the Homepage is set
to https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs-muse/index.html (debian/control).
As the new maintainer it's your right to switch upstream sources, but I
recommend you ask some team members and #debian-mentors on irc or the
mailing list about what the downsides to this may be; the mailing list
archives might have a record of someone else asking a question like
this. I'll support your decision once you let me know you've
investigated and considered.

What is your intention here? Are you rebasing our package onto this
fork, or are you using the fork as a code dump, or something else?

The aspects relating to the upload look good to me.

Oh, there's one more thing that needs to be fixed before we upload:
Bug #1048114

Take care,

  Programming Lang: C, OCaml
Description : OCaml bindings for PCRE2

 This OCaml-library interfaces the PCRE2 (Perl-compatibility
regular expressions) C library. it can be used for matching
regular expressions which are written in Perl style.

This is basically pcre-ocaml, which is threatened to be removed from
Debian because of #104 (depends on obsolete pcre), ported to pcre2
by tobil4sk. Neither pcre-ocaml original author [1], nor tobil4sk [2]
seem to want to maintain the new bindings upstream, but Chet Murthy
has offerred [3] to take this role.

Since some upstreams of reverse-dependencies of pcre-ocaml (liquidsoap
[4], camlp5 [5]) have expressed interest to switch to these new
bindings nonetheless, I decided to package them for Debian.

The package will be maintained in the OCaml team.

Shards is the dependency manager for the Crystal programming language.
 .
It manages dependencies for Crystal projects and libraries with reproducible
 installs across computers and systems.

The project's sources are hosted on GitHub [0].

Why?

We love Ruby's efficiency for writing code.
We love C's efficiency for running code.
We want the best of both worlds.
We want the compiler to understand what we mean without having to
specify types everywhere.
We want full OOP.
Oh, and we don't want to write C code to make the code run faster.

Description : implementation of the Leiden algorithm in C++

This package implements the Leiden algorithm in C++. It relies on igraph for
it to function. Besides the relative flexibility of the implementation, it
also scales well, and can be run on graphs of millions of nodes (as long as
they can fit in memory). The core class is Optimiser which finds the optimal
partition using the Leiden algorithm, which is an extension of the Louvain
algorithm for a number of different methods. The methods currently implemented
are (1) modularity, (2) Reichardt and Bornholdt's model using the
configuration null model and the Erdös-Rényi null model, (3) the Constant
Potts model (CPM), (4) Significance, and finally (5) Surprise. In addition,
it supports multiplex partition optimisation allowing community detection on
for example negative links or multiple time slices. There is the possibility
of only partially optimising a partition, so that some community assignments
remain fixed. It also provides some support for community detection on
 bipartite graphs.
 .
Most people will find it easier to work with the Python interface provided by
 python3-leidenalg.

This package is necessary to further upgrade python-leidenalg.
It will be maintained within the Debian Med Team. A packaging
stub is already available on Salsa[1].

Description : Python xarray reader to use Level-1 GRD Synthetic Aperture
Radar products

Binary package names: python3-xsar

xsar is a distributed level 1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) file reader
designed to write efficient distributed processing algorithms with xarray
 and dask.
 .
It currently handles Level-1 Sentinel-1 and Radarsat-2 data in SAFE format,
as found on scihub or PEPS.
 .
xsar rely on xarray.open_rasterio, rasterio and GDAL to read digital_number
from SAFE product to return an xarray.Dataset object with dask chunks.
Luts are decoded from xml files and applied to digital_number, following
official ESA thermal denoising document and ESA Sentinel-1 Product
 Specification.
 .
End user can directly use for example sigma0 variable, or the denoised
sigma0 computed from digital_number and by applying relevant luts.
 .
Since xsar rely on dask, it have a small memory footprint: variables are
read from file and computed only if needed.

The package will be maintained in debian-gis.

kind regards

Description : GNU R identification of domain isotypes in pfam data
Protein domains is one of the most import annoation of proteins we have
with the Pfam database/tool being (by far) the most used tool. This R
package enables the user to read the pfam prediction from both webserver
and stand-alone runs into R. We have recently shown most human protein
domains exist as multiple distinct variants termed domain isotypes.
Different domain isotypes are used in a cell, tissue, and disease-
specific manner. Accordingly, we find that domain isotypes, compared to
each other, modulate, or abolish the functionality of a protein domain.
This R package enables the identification and classification of such
 domain isotypes from Pfam data.

Bug#1049405: ITP: pcre2-ocaml -- OCaml bindings for PCRE2

2023-08-15 Thread Stéphane Glondu
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stéphane Glondu
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-ocaml-ma...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: pcre2-ocaml
  Version : 0.0.0~git20230408
* URL : https://github.com/tobil4sk/pcre2-ocaml
* License : LGPL-2.1+

Are you still working on this?

libcpucycles looks like a straightforward package with no more runtime
dependencies than glibc and no more build dependencies than python
and build-essential.

I'd like to see this package soon in Debian, I can help with the maintenance
package and/or sponsor uploads, if required.

  Programming Lang: Rust
Description : generic Ed25519 signature algorithm

ed25519 is a library providing asynchronous, multiplexed tailing
 for (namely log) files.

The `ed25519` crate allows you can write code
which signs and verifies messages using the Ed25519 signature algorithm
generically over any supported Ed25519 implementation.
 .
This allows consumers of your code
to plug in whatever implementation they want
to use without having to add all potential Ed25519 libraries
you'd like to support as optional dependencies.
 .
Ed25519 is an EdDSA signature scheme
using the secure hash function SHA-512 (SHA-2)
 and the elliptic curve Curve25519.

This package is needed for safe-network (bug#1008016).
It will be maintained in the collaborative debian section of salsa, at
