[Bug 180881] Re: Fonts in the GNOME login screen are disproportionately big
Confirmed on Hardy. The login screen, the user/password box cannot be read, it is too huge. The options menu on the login screen cannot be closed once open or read. Some pages in firefox have huge fonts (the page 2 3 4 5 6 links at the bottom of a google search) Galeon does not have this problem. I just set the System -Appearance -Fonts- Details - DPI to 72 instead of 96, and firefox crashed. It happens whethermy default SANS and SERIF is sans, freesans, bitstream vera sans, dejavu sans, etc. -- Fonts in the GNOME login screen are disproportionately big https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/180881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 204450] [NEW] Daylight saving in evolution / opensync
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have installed libopensync0 + multisync0.90 + evolution and irmc plugin. I have tried to synchronize with my Sony-Ericsson K800i (newest firmware, set to correct time zone and Daylight saving, GMT+1, no daylight saving at present (Denmark)). Syncing goes fine with everything, except that all calender entries after the 29th of March (the start of daylight saving in Denmark) are one hour ahead if I make the entry on the cell phone and synchronize it to Evolution. Entries before this date work fine syncing this way, and syncing the other way around works fine with all dates. If untick the Adjust for Daylight Saving Time option in Calenders and Tasks in the Evolution settings, the problem goes away. I appears to me, that this setting affects the dates as Evolution somehow wrongly compensates for DST. [Bug 204547] [NEW] Fortran files: gedit code-comment plugin and gtksourceview
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit-plugins Hi, I just installed the beta of Hardy Heron, and have a couple of comments regarding gedit: In Gutsy, the gedit code-comment plugin was unable to comment/uncomment Fortran files (*.f90, *.f95, etc.), although that option used to be available in Feisty ---I thought it was related to the sort-of-beta status of gktsourceview-2.0, so my solution was simply to add an old version of codecomment.* to my plugins folder. The problem still persists in Hardy. Also, I noticed that the gedit version that comes with Hardy is unable to identify an *.f90 file as Fortran source, if the file starts with !- (without the quotes) , as in the following: !--- program hello print *, 'Hello world!' end program !--- In those cases the mime type, according to the the tooltip, is text/x-vhdl, instead of text/x-fortran. It looks like gedit/gtksourceview is not considering the file extension at all. [Bug 202300] Re: light blue on white unreadable: ssh login
There is nothing bash can do about this. It does not even know what the background color is. gnome-terminal sets the background color and it also sets all the other colors. So, the original complaint is that the default colors of gnome-terminal provide suboptimal contrast to the default background, which is white. Hi Ralph Yes, my version is 2.22.0-0ubuntu2. I am using libopensync0 0.19-1.2ubuntu1, opensync-plugin-evolution 0.19-1ubuntu2, opensync- plugin 0.19-2, and multisync0.90 0.19.0-4.1ubuntu1. I also noticed that when syncing to my K800i using opensync (with the Adjust for Daylight Saving Time option ticked, the alarm/notification times are 1 hour early (e.g. an alarm set to 1 hour before appointment is two hours before on cellphone). Just thought I would add to this. I have the same issue too with a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ3XWP, brightness works with the function keys but does not work using the sliders in gnome-power-manager. The output of gnome- power-manager can be seen below. Funny enough, it did work on a fresh install, but as soon as I installed nvidia-glx-new as opposed to nv drivers it stopped working.
