I do think it is related. Don't want to be a wiseguy about it, but it
still is not working as it should do if .Xmodmap settings are in place
for natural scrolling. So why should it not be related? thanks for your

[Bug 974019] [NEW] Does not remember the sort order

2012-04-05 Thread Owais Lone
Public bug reported:

Nautilus 3.4.0 does not remember the sort order of folders.

To reproduce:

Try to manually arrange the items on the desktop, then log out and log
back in and notice that nautilus sorts the items in default alphabetic
order.

To to change the sorting of a folder to 'Modified Date' + 'Reversed',
navigate away from the folder and then come back to notice that nautilus
changes the sorting back to alphabetical.

[Bug 974031] [NEW] Wrong icons in nautilus

2012-04-05 Thread David Blaser
Public bug reported:

When I open nautilus the first time after start-up by click on a nexus
of a partition (Type of it: NTFS) in the starter there are sometimes
loaded the wrong icons (for the search button, folders etc.) and not the
ones that are showed normally (the standard ones of Ubuntu). After
restarting the nautilus process (but after that the icons of the
Personal folder and the one of the open folder(s) aren't showed
together in one symbol in the starter) or restarting the system there
are loaded the correct ones.

[Bug 974043] Crash report cannot be processed

2012-04-05 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

outdated debug symbol package for libv4l-0: package version 0.8.6-1ubuntu1
dbgsym version 0.8.5-3ubuntu2
ifupdown version 0.7~beta2ubuntu7 required, but 0.7~beta2ubuntu8 is available
outdated debug symbol package for ifupdown: package version 0.7~beta2ubuntu8
dbgsym version 0.7~beta2ubuntu7
package python-gobject-cairo does not exist, ignoring

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 974075] [NEW] Drag'n drop covers from nautilus to Rhythmbox doesn't work

2012-04-05 Thread Pierre-Olivier Megret
Public bug reported:

RB takes covers form internet or directly from album folders too when RB
finds cover.jpg or folder.jpg.

But when I used RB ( when RB was default MUsic browser in Ubuntu ) I
was used to drag'n drop other covers form nautilus or Firefox directly.

This last option doesn't work in Ubuntu precise.

[Bug 974079] [NEW] Window manager clips X11 arcs wrongly

2012-04-05 Thread bill purvis
Public bug reported:

I have a number of usr-written applications that involve drawing Arcs. The
applications are written in
C, using direct X11 calls, and Java, using AWT interface. When updating the
graphics on screen, arcs
get clipped where they shouldn't. I have come to the conclusion that this
happens when another
window is being help at the top layer of the stack, e.g. a window flagged as
'Always on Top', a
Java dialog window or a Gnome notification popup. The clipping appears to treat
the 'on top'
window as if it covers the full width of the screen. Once the window is moved
away, refreshing
the window causes the arcs to draw properly. The clipping only affects Arcs,
lines and text are
not affected.

I should add that my C applications do not use clipping, and refresh simply
redraws the whole of
the window - no attempt is made to refresh only the areas exposed. The
applications all used to work
under much earlier versions, e.g Ubuntu 8.04, but I can't say exactly when the
bug appeared.

My laptop is an Acer Extensa 5630E if that helps.

I'd be grateful for any advice on circumventing this bug, and would be happy to
assist in providing
further information when required.

[Bug 970814] [NEW] Combobox badly initialized (semi-sensitive?) since gtk3

2012-04-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

My app uses a GTK3 ui created by Glade3.10.
In the Glade file, there are some combobox with default sensitive settings
(sensitive=yes), other with non-sensitive settings (sensitive=no)

OBSERVED BEHAVIOR:
When running my app (either in Ubuntu 11.10 or 12.04), all comboboxes
(sensitive=yes or no) appear in what i will call semi-sensitive state: they
behave like sensitive but their label is greyed (not the arrow, which is
normally black, see attached screenshot).
When the user moves the cursor above the combobox, the grey label becomes black
(like a normal sensitive combobox).

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
the comboboxes should directly appear in the state chosen in the Glade file.

WORKAROUND:
in the code of my app, i send a signal to set the state of the combobox as
sensitive to make it sensitive at start. If i want the combobox to appear
non-sensitive at start, i need to send a signal to set the state of the
combobox as sensitive then another one to set it non-sensitive.

Remarks:
- don't hesitate to ask more informations, or link me to the right place.
- with gtk2 my app does not have this bug

[Bug 432814] Re: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty

2012-04-05 Thread Tom Arnold
Today some updates to Lubuntu 12.04 change the behaviour to double tap = right
click.
I consider that a bug and would like to see it fixed. I have a right button my
me EeePC.

synclient TapButton3=3 TapButton2=2 fixes it temporarily.

With every Fedora and Ubuntu release these problems crop up, I guess it
is because some Gnome devs think the Mac way of doing things is always
right. It is really annoying.

2012-04-05 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 971768] Re: nautilus cannot deactivate show hidden files

2012-04-05 Thread Sebastien Bacher
in fact the system is non obvious, the preferences let you set the
default, then the menu let you customize the view for a specific
directory (same as you would do for sorting or view mode), so you could
disable hidden file by default but only show their in your hacking
directory or something. Closing that's not a bug in nautilus

[Bug 972938] Re: Wishlist: Using search make possible to select using shift all related files

2012-04-05 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
