[Bug 432814] Re: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty
Ok, figured it out, on Oneiric Unity uses the new gnome-settings-daemon, and to configure the touchpad post g-s-d, we should use this: http://who-t.blogspot.com/2011/03/custom-input-device-configuration- in.html -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432814 Title: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/432814/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 432814] Re: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty
Any news on how to handle this on Oneiric? Neither yurivkhan's or o.shybystyi's PPAs have been updated to 11.10 (and naturally, there is still no way to configure this on Gnome itself). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432814 Title: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/432814/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 369092] Re: Ubuntu Jaunty. two seconds delay on incoming voice with ekiga
I can confirm this. Ekiga 3.2.0 on Jaunty 9.04, minimum of 2 seconds delay. Upon further investigation, the delay is just on sound output: the opposite side hears audio immediately. This suggests some kind of problem with a jitter buffer, or maybe pulseaudio. -- Ubuntu Jaunty. two seconds delay on incoming voice with ekiga https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to ekiga in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 61381] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login
I can confirm Jaime Alemany's solution to the problem. Disabling the Windows firewall and commenting all IPv6 hosts from /etc/hosts did the trick. -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/61381 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 61381] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login
This is happening to me *every time* I try to login using XDMCP (from Cygwin), up to the latest updates on my Edgy box as of this moment. Edgy was dist-upgraded from Dapper 3 weeks ago. Before the upgrade, everything worked. Just to be clear: I can login, but the symptoms after that are much like described in gosh's previous comment. I get a brown screen for a few seconds, then a brown screen with a white rectangle on the top-left corner for up to 2 minutes, and finally the following error message (where the white rectangle was): There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Activation of org.gnome.SettingsDaemon timed out GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in. After that, I get no menu bars, only the icons on the desktop (with the background image loaded). -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/61381 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 61381] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login
Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but this problem does not show when I start a KDE session. -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/61381 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 63661] Re: Freeze on login to Gnome in Edgy
I have observed this exact same behavior in my Edgy box, but only when logging in using Xdmcp. I have yet to discover the cause. -- Freeze on login to Gnome in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/63661 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 63661] Re: Freeze on login to Gnome in Edgy
Also, when I try running System Preferences Font, I get the following message after about 20 seconds: Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'. Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager. I'm guessing it's related. -- Freeze on login to Gnome in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/63661 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
