The resolution of the printouts is so low, I cannot read them.
  The printer drivers are up-to-date.

Any ideas on how to possibly resolve this bug?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1938978] Re: nvidia-340 kernel module failed to build (ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid)

2021-09-18 Thread Sumit Bhattacharyya
I'm also affected by this bug. I've activated grub and still boot with the
5.8.0 kernel - this works without problems. On the other hand, I'm not
performing any updates now. I had the same problem when the 20.04.1 version was
created - the bug was fixed shortly after. This time it seems to take
significantly longer even though the reason is probably the same. I hope for an
official bug fix, otherwise I will try out Butterfly's solution:
https://launchpad.net/~kelebek333/+archive/ubuntu/nvidia-legacy
But this recurring situation is not really satisfying!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1772430]

2021-09-18 Thread Qa-admin-q
Dear bugzilla,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open,
confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked
on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has
been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really
appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still
present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of
LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Title:
[upstream] Proportional line spacing under 100 % makes first line too
  low in LibreOffice Writer

Status in LibreOffice:
  Confirmed
Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Using proportional line spacing with less than 100 % makes the first
line of each paragraph and each page considerably lower than all the
  other lines.

This problem is an issue particularly with fonts designed for Arabic,
where the default line spacing is very big so as to allow for space
for optional vowel marks below and above the line. If these marks are
not used, the space between the lines is often too big. If I change
line spacing to proportional 80 %, most of the lines look fine but the
first line of each paragraph and of each page (even without a
paragraph break) gets crammed into the second line. As a user, I would
rather expect the first line to have the same visual height as all the
other lines. See the attached document and screenshots using Noto
Naskh Arabic and 80 % line spacing.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1929999] Re: [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.7.2.M3 for Focal

2021-09-18 Thread Rico Tzschichholz
** Summary changed:

- [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.7.2.M1 for Focal
+ [SRU] libreoffice 6.4.7.2.M3 for Focal

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

- * LibreOffice 6.4.7.2.M1 is a bug-fix release of the 6.4 line:
- It receives important bug-fixes on top of the 6.4 branch which is EOL
since November 30, 2020. Currently maintained by Andras Timar for France's MIMO
(https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2013/06/17/the-document-foundation-welcomes-frances-mimo-in-the-advisory-board/)
+ * LibreOffice 6.4.7.2.M3 is a bug-fix release of the 6.4 line:
+ It receives important bug-fixes on top of the 6.4 branch which is EOL
since November 30, 2020. Currently maintained by Andras Timar for France's MIMO
(https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2013/06/17/the-document-foundation-welcomes-frances-mimo-in-the-advisory-board/)

- * Version 6.4.7 is currently released in focal.
- (that's a total of ?? bugs)
+ * Version 6.4.7 is currently released in focal.
+ (that's a total of ?? bugs)

  * Given the nature of the project, the complexity of the codebase and
the high level of quality assurance upstream, it is preferable to SRU a
minor release rather than cherry-pick selected bug fixes.

  [Testing]

  * Launchpad testing. The libreoffice packages include autopkgtests that were
run and verified as passing.
-
https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+sourcepub/12419370/+listing-archive-extra
+
https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+sourcepub/12419370/+listing-archive-extra

- * [amd64] ...

- * [armhf] ...
- * [ppc64el] ...
- * [s390x] ...
+ * [amd64] ...
+ * [arm64] ...
+ * [armhf] ...
+ * [ppc64el] ...
+ * [s390x] ...

  * General smoke testing of all the applications in the office suite were
carried out by going through the manual testplan as documented by:
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlans/libreoffice

  [Regression Potential]

  * A minor release with a total of ?? bug fixes always carries the
potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bug-fix-only
release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing
  features were removed.

  * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described
above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked
  in.

  [Regression Potential]

  * A minor release with a total of ?? bug fixes always carries the
potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bug-fix-
only release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing
  features were removed.

  * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described
above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked
  in.
