[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1153798] Re: after upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 beta, the X11 login screen does not use the specified background
Think I see what's going on: the version of gtk-greeter included in Ubuntu 13.04 uses the user profile's desktop background if there is one. At least one thing is still wrong -- my desktop background is a small image (from subtlepatterns.com) set to tile. The greeter does not tile. Two small enhancement requests if I may: - Being able to turn off the use of user profile backgrounds in gtk- greeter - Being able to specify tiling for the background= in gtk-greeter.conf (or by some other means) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1153798 Title: after upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 beta, the X11 login screen does not use the specified background Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I am running ubuntu with XFCE, and here is the content of my /etc/xdg /xdg-xubuntu/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf # # background = Background file to use, either an image path or a color (e.g. #772953) # theme-name = GTK+ theme to use # icon-theme-name = Icon theme to use # font-name = Font to use # xft-antialias = Whether to antialias Xft fonts (true or false) # xft-dpi = Resolution for Xft in dots per inch (e.g. 96) # xft-hintstyle = What degree of hinting to use (hintnone, hintslight, hintmedium, or hintfull) # xft-rgba = Type of subpixel antialiasing (none, rgb, bgr, vrgb or vbgr) # show-language-selector (true or false) # show-indicators = semi-colon ; separated list of allowed indicator modules (e.g. indicator-sound.so) # [greeter] background=/lib/plymouth/themes/xubuntu-logo/xubuntu-greybird.png theme-name=Bluebird icon-theme-name=elementary-xfce font-name=Droid Sans 10 xft-antialias=true xft-dpi=96 xft-hintstyle=slight xft-rgba=rgb show-language-selector=true show-indicators= The login screen, after the upgrade, does not use the background specified above, but rather shows one of my desktop background (one of -- dual monitor) stretched to the whole screen.
