Re: Hello

2017-01-25 Thread Andrew Palumbo
Hi Arijit,

Mahout seq2sparse is a really great tool- hard to beat in alot of ways. Mahout
does have a distributed SPCA algorithm. Maybe we should move this discussion
to the mahout dev list? We can get you more information there, and If you're
interested in contributing that would be a great place to talk.

Look forward to talking to you...

Andy

Andy,
We have done tf-idf (term frequency, inverse document frequency )
calculation from a big corpus using map reduce. We were finding if there is
any ready library available for calculation of eigen value, eigen vector and
ofcourse principal component analysis.
It would be great to call the function instead of writing.
I am interested to take part in the development procedure of
mahout...The advantage we have is the great thirst to learn new thing the
disadvantage is we don't have that much infrastructure...everyone has his
own laptop only.

With Regards
Arijit

Fwd: New Feathercast mailing list

2017-01-25 Thread Rich Bowen
To anyone who has at any time expressed interest in helping out with
Feathercast, please see below. (Some of you have already received this,
but sending it to comdev just in case I missed someone!)

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm BCC'ing you because at some point you have expressed some interest
in helping out with Feathercast. Infra has been kind enough as to create
a featherc...@apache.org mailing list (because the world needs Yet
Another Mailing List!!) for coordinating work on Feathercast, as well as
announcing new episodes, events, and so on.

I was on the verge of losing track of who had responded to my various
calls for help, so this seemed more efficient. It also lets you join and
drop off at will, rather than getting my emails when you no longer want
them.

To subscribe to the mailing list, send blank email to
feathercast-subscr...@apache.org

To unsubscribe, it's feathercast-unsubscr...@apache.org

The list archives are at
https://lists.apache.org/list.html?featherc...@apache.org and you can,
if you wish, read and post via that interface instead.

So, thanks again for your interest in Feathercast, and I look forward to
working with all of you!

I definitely have Drill and Myriad stickers. Let me know if you want some.
I personally don't have anything else.

For example: committers, announce, press, etc?

I thought there used to be such a list but I cannot find it now.

Anyone know where it is now?
