 Browser controller/emulator abstraction for PHP

Update Information:

One of the most important parts in the web is a browser. Browser is the window
through which web users interact with web applications and other users. Users
are always talking with web applications through browsers. So, in order to test
that our web application behaves correctly, we need a way to simulate this
interaction between the browser and the web application in our tests. We need a
Mink. Mink is an open source browser controller/emulator for web applications,
written in PHP. Read Mink at a Glance [1] to learn more about Mink and why you
need it. [1] http://mink.behat.org/en/latest/at-a-glance.html

if things are all messed up you can use the 'Party Perished' button.
That should remove all your existing rules and add the 'default' setup,
which works for most people.

If that fails, or you want to debug the current setup, it helps
sometimes to enable the 'We can annotate your messages with a
"triggered by" link' option so it tells you what rule is matching which
email.

Failing all that, I am happy to assist via email or drop by
#fedora-admin and myself or someone else can help debug it.

Do you need any "exotic" devices plugged into the system and should we
try to have as many devices connected as possible when the script is

Trying to collect samples of USB descriptor data

2016-08-09 Thread Daniel Kopeček
Hello, I'm working on an open-source project called USBGuard (Fedora package:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/usbguard/) which aims to
provide an user-space framework that complements the USB device authorization
feature[1] in the Linux kernel. There are parts which deal with USB descriptor
data and I would like to test them thoroughly (fuzzing, etc.). For that I need
some samples of the USB descriptor data. I can generate some samples but it's
always a good idea to have real world samples.

Now to my actual request. I wrote a script[2] for collecting USB descriptor
data from a Linux based system and I would like you to help me by running this
script on your system (should work without root) and send me the results to
dnk.usb...@gmail.com or by other means, whatever is convenient for you. The
script is very simple and it should be easy to check that it doesn't do
anything malicious.

Here's a short description of what the script does:

 1. It looks for usb devices in /sys/bus/usb/devices
 2. For each device it:
- computes the sha1 of the USB descriptors (the "descriptors" file in the
device sub-directory)
- copies the "descriptors" file into a temporary directory
- counts the number of configuration, interface and endpoint descriptors
using lsusb and saves this information in the temporary directory
 3. Compresses the temporary directory -- the archive is the result.
 4. Removes the temporary directory

Yes we should allow for systemd to specify a label, but the label needs
to be transitioned from the user domain.

For example if I login as unconfined_t and want to run a service as
httpd_t, then I need to be able to transition from
unconfined_t to httpd_t. As long as systemd-user is running as the user
domain, then SElinux will control this.

Sometimes talking does not get anywhere and you reach an impase and you should
just leave the acls be pending. The package is not held hostage in anyway
shape or form. I honestly think you are attacking this from the wrong angle.

User instances of systemd and SELinux

2016-08-09 Thread Michal Sekletar
Hi all,

Most of you are probably aware that systemd except running as PID 1
also runs inside user sessions. This allow users to define their own
"user services" and start up various scripts and background processes
right after logging in.

In default targeted policy PID 1 runs with init_t SELinux label and
--user instances of systemd are not confined by SELinux, i.e. running
with unconfined_t.

During Flock I got asked whether we can change that and run systemd
--user instances in some confined domain. Fixing this on systemd side
should be trivial, i.e. we would have to add SELinuxContext= option
with appropriate value to /usr/lib/systemd/system/user@.service (unit
file used for spawning user instances of systemd).

I am writing this email with a hope that we can discuss if above
proposal even makes sense (what are possible gains from system
security perspective) and if yes what is appropriate SELinux label to
use (I guess we would need new one and define policy for it).

I don't see this for glibc. How do I turn this on?

Currently, I only receive notification of builds I started, but that happens
for packages where I'm not listed as a maintainer, so I assume it's an
unrelated mechanism.

Try this site to configure email/irc notifications for pretty much anything
related to Fedora activity:

  https://apps.fedoraproject.org/notifications/

I can't make it to send notifications. I'm not sure how this is
supposed to work. Compared to this, even procmail is rather intuitive
(not sure about sendmail.cf yet :-/).

Try this site to configure email/irc notifications for pretty much anything
related to Fedora activity:

no, unfortunately not. The package has two include files and a symlink for
the shared library (and some documentation) - that's it. It's sendmail! :)

Hm, does it have a pkg-config file? If it did, then the BuildRequires
of affected packages should be something like.

 BuildRequires: pkgconfig(sendmail-milter)

(or whatever your pkg-config file is called), and the package rename
would not affect any other packages. Because you're not supposed to BR
the -devel packages by name, if you are using pkg-config.

Maintainer notification of package-related activity (was: Re: Fedora Account System (FAS) security issue)

2016-08-09 Thread Florian Weimer

On 08/08/2016 09:23 PM, Paul W. Frields wrote:

to package content in dist-git generate notices to maintainers, and
the discovered flaw would not allow an attacker to circumvent these or

I don't see this for glibc. How do I turn this on?

Currently, I only receive notification of builds I started, but that
happens for packages where I'm not listed as a maintainer, so I assume
it's an unrelated mechanism.

Thanks,
Florian

Filed in 2013, the only answer is "Porting to Py3 is on my radar, but
the work is complicated because we still need to support older RHEL
versions"
→ Does this mean that no porting will be done before RHEL7 is EOL?

"all of those deps are all py3-ready now. All that is left is to port MM2
itself." (January 2016)

So this one looks pretty good, even if there is no recent progress.
I filed https://github.com/fedora-infra/mirrormanager2/pull/185 to
get things going.
