Re: HEADS UP: eigen-3.3.0 update

2016-12-28 Thread Rich Mattes
I spent the day working on the rebuilds required for eigen3-3.3.1, as
outlined by Sandro. Below is a summary of my progress:

The package owner has not responded to this thread or the bugzilla
bug, so I will try to take care of the upgrade to 5.0.0 tomorrow.

Re: Trouble with java on arm?

2016-12-28 Thread Orion Poplawski
It appears there is. A couple years ago vtk was failing to build on arm due
memory issues:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1115920

To get around that we started specifying 2GB of heap space via:

JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS=-Xmx2048m

Now with the updated java on aarch32 I'm getting:

Error executing java -version: 1 Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS: -Xmx2048m
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 2097152KB object heap

Are the armv7hl builders really that strapped for RAM, or is this a java bug
in the new build?

I'm trying a scratch build without this option to see if it works that way.

texlive is *built*, but there's a koji problem with getting it tagged:

https://pagure.io/koji/issue/259

this also prevents us building cantor.

Sympy needs texlive to build, so it can't be fixed until texlive can
be built in Rawhide again.

I've just been working through the list alphabetically when I get time.
I'm doing dnsyo ATM. Trying to improve the way the package spec hacks
setup.py.

I've fixed python-smartcols and python-behave..

Attaching current rawhide/koji packages which depend on python 3.5
instead of 3.6 still.

[EPEL-devel] EPEL-ANNOUNCE Major owncloud update incoming

2016-12-28 Thread James Hogarth
Hi all,

A traditional quick heads up.

Owncloud 9.1 is a major update from 9.0 and presently in epel-testing.

Assuming nothing is found in the Fedora builds this is likely to be
pushed in about a week.

Please be aware that Owncloud 9.1 will be the last major update for
EPEL7 as Owncloud 9.2 drops support for php5.4 and use of Red Hat SCL
repositories are prohibited in EPEL at this time.

I will continue to make a best effort to update within the 9.1.X
branch in EPEL7 but when it presents an undue burden compared to the
Fedora release an announcement will go out indicating the retirement.

Remi has indicated that he'll continue to backport activity in Fedora
to his repo (http://rpms.famillecollet.com/) for EPEL users to install
in conjunction with his newer PHP packages. Alternatively you may wish
to switch to the upstream builds or in due course an Owncloud Fedora
docker container will be released which will be able to be run on EL7.

At the time of the container option I'll provide details on how to
migrate to it.

Kind regards,

James

Hi all,

We held this back due to an LVM bug that was found in Fedora and came
under investigation (rsnapshot failed if an lvm:// entry was after the
regular backup entries.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1388209 describes the
bug).

A patch has been backported and tested in the Fedora build.

With this now fixed please be aware we'll be pushing the 1.4.2 update
in roughly a week, with the version currently in epel-testing being
the one due to be pushed.

The updated bodhi links for the version with the LVM fix:

an infrastructure ticket or talk with us on #fedora-admin and we can
manually fix things.

Cheers,
Mattia
