The package was actually retired almost a year ago, so yes.

Unretiring a package

2023-02-22 Thread Globe Trotter via devel
According to

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Package_Retirement_Process/#claiming

unretiring a package requires review if retired for more than eight weeks.
According to releng, the package slim has been retired for 6+ weeks. Do I still
need to ask for review of this package, and file a BZ request?

Thanks!

Hi gil,
>1) maybe you should open a bug for review the package ... ?
Yes I did already ... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1270630
You know - chicken egg problem - the procedure says first announce on devel
list, then create the review request.

>2) you must use %license macro for LICENSE text file
will do - thanks

>    i do not understand why _pkgdocdir is versioned
Plan is to get radare2 to fedora. I believe the original packager of
valabind thought of keeping possibility to simultaneously install multiple
versions of radare. The upstream is definitely preparing and using this
possibility.
So far I decided to keep the functionality for compatibility with the
previous package.

>4) you could remove also "Group:  Applications/Engineering" is no
more required
Yes I know it is optional now, but I would like to keep it for compatibility
with EPEL, where the valabind package was not orphaned.
See https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/valabind/

Policy for unretiring a package

2013-09-01 Thread Jochen Schmitt
Hello,

I would ask, if there an official policy about unretiring an package.

The background of my question is, that a package which is maintained by me
was retiered due FTBFS issue. Now I was able to fix this issues and want
to unretiring it.

I have done a google search and found a ticket with the statement, that
a review request will been not required when the package was not retired
for more then two weeks.

But because i'M not sure, I would like to ask for any clarification.

Best Regards:
