Re: Re: Retirement of rifiuti

Hi Eriberto,

thanks for your feedback!

Comparing the man pages
https://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=rifiuti=0=0=Debian+unstable+sid=html=en
https://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=rifiuti2=0=0=Debian+unstable+sid=html=en
tells me that rifiuti has only one command line option which is also present in
rifiuti2.

Popcon says that both packages have little bit over 100 users (which allow the
participation in popcon):
https://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=rifiuti
https://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=rifiuti2

The most efficient way would be to notify the existing rifiuti users (e.g. thru
a update of the package)
about the existence of rifiuti2 and to ask them to retest their use cases with
rifiuti2.
Provide also concise deadline (like 2016-12-31).
In the case that there are not complaints or severe bugreports rifiuti will be
retired.

Thanks!

Markus

Retirement of rifiuti

2016-07-24 Thread Dr. Markus Waldeck
Dear Debian Forensics Maintainers,

I wonder why rifiuti which was updated the last time over 12 (!) years ago is
still provided
while the successor rifiuti2 is also packaged.

Thanks!

PS: rifiuti2 version 0.7.0 is available.

Bug#491430: wrong configuration directory in /usr/share/python-support/grokevt/grokevt.p

2008-07-19 Thread Dr. Markus Waldeck

Package: grokevt
Version: 0.4.1-1
Severity: important

I followed man grokevt and noticed that /usr/local/etc/grokevt/systems
was mentioned.
I put my configuration files in /etc/grokevt and it was not possible
to run grokevt-builddb.
On Debian /usr/share/python-support/grokevt/grokevt.py should expect
/etc/grokev.
