Hi Stephen,

If I remember correctly, Bob Cowan's wonderful short film Rockflow was
filmed at Electric Circus. Film-Makers' Coop should have it.

And a resounding yes to Fitzgibbon whose almost complete works screened a
few years ago in Toronto. Blown away. Would love to see those again - I
wonder if there are any plans to release them on BR? (Pip, are you

Again, I had decent success doing this with two acetate films. To bring
this topic back up, I was wondering if anyone had done this with tape
splices on the source film? Again, I'm using a JK animation motor on 50hz,
so it's pretty darn slow (my shutter speed is appx 1/2) and I would say
gentle. I have a Neutaper and fresh tape, I'm thinking that only taping one
side will suffice. None of the splices will be on the actual material I
need as I'm doing short traveling mattes with a bit of space between each.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: [Frameworks] Looking for Steenbeck 6000 16/35 timing belts

2016-02-19 Thread Jean-Louis Seguin
I only have the 83 in stock.

I have ordered them from Dinamica in Spain
Here's the information:

 DINAMICA Distribuciones, S.A.

Ctra N-II. Km.592.6

08740 - Sant Andreu de la Barca - BARCELONA

  Tel. 93-653 35 00

 Fax. 93-653 35 08

  E-mail : dinam...@dinamica.net

 Internet : http://www.dinamica.net

Ask for Synchroflex 10 DRxx where xx is the number of teeth.

These are not standard metric belts but a long ago discontinued pitch.
As far as I know, Dinamica are the only ones in the world carrying this.

Good luck,
Jean-Louis

Re: [Frameworks] Looking for Steenbeck 6000 16/35 timing belts

2016-02-19 Thread George, Sherman
SDP/SI.com carries metric belts. Page 2-163 of their metric catalog
516-328.3300
They don’t list a 63 tooth but have 60 or 65 tooth.
Hope that helps

[Frameworks] Looking for Steenbeck 6000 16/35 timing belts

2016-02-19 Thread Transit Audio Services Ltd.
Greetings All

I'm trying to find a source for Steenbeck timing belts. I've tried the major
manufacturers and they seem to be an odd spec.

5mm pitch
9mm width
Trapezoidal tooth profile
53, 63, 83 & 98 teeth.

Thanks

Thanks David,
I showed that film every year for decades and forgot the 360 you mention.

[Frameworks] Bi-packing acetate in a Bolex

2016-02-19 Thread Chris G
Again, I had decent success doing this with two acetate films. To bring
this topic back up, I was wondering if anyone had done this with tape
splices on the source film? Again, I'm using a JK animation motor on 50hz,
so it's pretty darn slow (my shutter speed is appx 1/2) and I would say
gentle. I have a Neutaper and fresh tape, I'm thinking that only taping one
side will suffice. None of the splices will be on the actual material I
need as I'm doing short traveling mattes with a bit of space between each.

Thanks,
Chris

[Frameworks] 360º films

Gene,

There is a great 360º sequence in Pete Rose's The Man Who Could Not See Far
Enough (interestingly enough, the same film just cited as also having a great
eclipse sequence).
