I found it (what confused me was that there are two forums, and at first
I looked only in the developers' forum), and am now quite active in
there.

Thanks but I am in touch with them by now - we have a voip meeting next
week :-)

Also, a podcaster enthusiastic about both SAFEnet and FreedomBox
contacted me - I recommended him to get in touch with Sunil for an
interview.

I cannot tell if one from the maidsafe staff read your post. And
I do not know if maidsafe is aware of the significance of
your post saying you want to get maidsafe software into
the repositories.

I think you should contact maidsafe. Inform them more
thoroughly.

I want to _build_ from source all parts of Maidsafe and Solid. Some
parts make sense to install on server-like Debian systems like
FreedomBox, and some parts make sense to install on desktop-oriented
Debian systems.

I understand that Maidsafe is still alpha level code. That is the
reason I mentioned in previous email to first package for experimental
branch of Debian, and only later for unstable.

FreedomBox is a Debian Pure Blend: Contain only official Debian parts,
no parts built by third-party vendors.

Fine if Maidsafe developers _also_ build .deb packages usable with
Debian (and derivatives like Ubuntu). My interest is, however, to build
packages for Debian officially, possible to integrate with FreedomBox.

I did not know.
On safenetforum.org you may get pieces of information.
If you do not want to register tell me what
information you are looking for and I can
ask on the forum.

In thunderbird I set

Please tell if the email is correct now?

We can package alpha-level Maidsafe for Debian experimental now.

Then, when Maidsafe parts mature, we can move those packages to Debian
unstable, and let them mature as well.

Works ok now, apparently.

I recommend to try use Mozilla Thunderbird with the imap protocol -
seems your provider supports that, according to this guide:

I had seen no version 1.0 and assumed 0.9 was the
newest version.

Why do you ask about 0.9? It's a quite old version of Debian testing (before
Debian 9 "Stretch" was released as stable).

The current stable version is part of Debian 9, and our image builds are here:
https://freedombox.org/download/stable/
You can think of it as "version 1", because it's the first stable release.

I'm asking how you were pointed to 0.9, because if users are being directed to
that old version, then we should either remove it or clearly mark it.

Is freedombox 0.9 stable as a version 1? How many freedomboxes are on the
internet? I ask because
when maidsafe.net gets to version alpha 4 then freedomboxes could be one system
to install
maidsafe vaults on.
