I finally got round to doing some Fedora test
 builds
.
LGTM so far, though only tested lightly.

I will be pushing this to the Fedora ghc:8.8 module testing stream soon.

https://gitlab.haskell.org/ghc/ghc/issues/12088 is still open and
doesn't appear to have seen that much recent activity. Is this the
right ticket?
