[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1380283] New: New VM for fstat

2016-09-30 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1380283

Bug ID: 1380283
   Summary: New VM for fstat
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: nig...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

Please create a new VM for fstat.

It needs a public IP. If you can set it up so tht fstat.gluster.org points to
this new VM that'd be great.

It can be a 1 GB RAM machine that can talk to our upcoming postgres server.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1380658] New: Delay in receiving mails posted to gluster-*l ML

2016-09-30 Thread bugzilla

   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Severity: high
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: skod...@redhat.com

Description of problem:

Few of us have noticed that there is a long delay before we receive mails (in
our inbox) posted to gluster-devel mailing list (unless one is in 'To'/'CC'
list). For example the last mail we received (as of today) is from Kaleb posted
on 28th Sep titled
"Community Gluster Package Matrix, updated".

But there are so many other mails sent, post this mail, to gluster-devel
mailing list -
http://www.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-devel/2016-September/date.html

There is similar issue with gluster-users ML as well.

So while I do not think this is the cause, I also rebooted supercolony for
various upgrade, and because dmesg did show weird cpu errors messages.

Restarting syslog fix the issue, but that's not a good fix, as I do not know
what cause it.

another server as part of the migration 2 weeks ago (cf another mail on

Thanks Chris!

The steps we have been following for other projects were like:

1. transfer ownership of the repo to an admin (I'm nixpanic on GitHub)
2. wait for the admin to accept and place the repo under the Gluster
organization
3. fork the repository back to your personal account, so that existing URLs
keep
working, but the GitHub repo mentions it is a fork
4. continue as normal, but push changes to the new location (or use
pull-requests)

Could you make sure to add a licence file to the repo? It seems the Cargo.toml
file mentions MIT, it is advised to mention that in the source file too.

Short answer: The files are available. Here they are for this particular set

http://nbslave74.cloud.gluster.org/archived_builds/build-install-20161004210613.tgz
nbslave74.cloud.gluster.org/logs/glusterfs-logs-20161004210613.tgz

Longer answer: If you notice the URL I've pasted in, it's the URL in the logs
minus the leading `/archives`. To fix this, I need to get NetBSD test scripts
in line with everything else. This needs code review since I'm unsure what I'm
breaking, etc.

I'd love to fix it, but I'm not going to write a hacky fix that is not future
proof.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1377533] New: Run check-bugs.py on weekly basis in Jenkins and have it send emails

2016-09-19 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1377533

Bug ID: 1377533
Summary: Run check-bugs.py on weekly basis in Jenkins and have
it send emails
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: nde...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org,
nig...@redhat.com

Description of problem:
check-bugs.py is a script that generates a list of bugs and patches that are in
an incorrect state. In the default execution mode, it will go through all open
changes and matches the status of bugs with them.

The script generates a plain-text output, like
http://www.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-devel/2016-September/050941.html

At the moment this script is running as a cronjob on bugs.cloud.gluster.org and
I forward the email manually after a minimal check. Instead of running it from
cron, it can run in Jenkins and send the output to gluster-devel directly.

The script is part of https://github.com/gluster/release-tools, as it can be
used for verifying the bug status of trackers/versions/buglists and so on.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1377598] New: Jenkins voting issues

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1377598

Bug ID: 1377598
   Summary: Jenkins voting issues
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Keywords: Triaged
  Assignee: nig...@redhat.com
  Reporter: nig...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

We have Jenkins voting through two ways:

1) via a review.gluster.org_for-smoke-jobs Gerrit server and Jenkins posts the
results into the Smoke flag.
2) via Centos-regression and NetBSD-regression where the build nodes SSH in to
post the job status.

This is causing two different sets of problems
1) If you modify the patch after a regression run started, the results will be
posted to the patch against with regression was started rather than the latest
one. This is okay most of the time since new patch = new regression run anyway,
but there are cases where Jenkins is smart:
a) If you push two jobs to Jenkins (for the same patch) and neither has
started, Jenkins will only start one job.
b) If you push change the commit message, we theoretically retain votes.
Jenkins votes on the earlier patch making it pointless.

2) If you retry smoke and regression at the same, Jenkins will start them all
together and combine the reporting. If regression fails, this makes the
reporting go haywire.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1378607] Create new mailing list: heketi-de...@gluster.org

2016-09-23 Thread bugzilla

We have a process for that:

https://github.com/gluster/infra-docs/blob/master/procedures/adding_a_list.rst

But I suspect there is something wrong going here, the bug should be assigned
to infra and be in another category, unless Amye want to test our doc and
provides a PR, which would be fine (and likely interesting to see where it
fail), and I am ok to answer questions, even if that's one of the least
streamlined part of our process at the moment for historical reason)

Also, we need the email of the 2 admins.

I would rather try to not run it from jenkins, because in a ideal world,i would
like the builders be unable to send email. Any reason to not keep the cronjob

False alarm. Builds are triggered. But if you retrigger
centos-regresssion/netbsd-regression/smoke at the same time, Jenkins will wait
until all simultaneously started jobs are complete before reporting back.

We've also missed out on one critical step - Cleaning out users on Jenkins

We cleaned out a whole bunch of users who we think aren't active any more or

Geo-rep tests are disabled in NetBSD. Import error is coming when `gsyncd.py

00:11:36 glusterfsd: no process killed

Root cause:
===
Looks like dbench got stuck at
https://github.com/sahlberg/dbench/blob/master/fileio.c#L400 (or pread) and
never was able to break out of it. This caused dbench never to complete till
the volume and the mount was taken down and it errored out.

Why it got stuck here, would be the next question I guess.

This is under RCA, there is a thread about including logs for smoke failures
which is because of analyzing this failure, Raghavendra G has indicated that
there is a hung process which leads to this failure. Some recent changes have
caused it IMHO. Your patch certainly didn't. I feel we already have a BZ
tracking this issue, but as I am on my mobile device now can't search for it.

 Component: project-infrastructure
  Severity: high
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: oleksa...@natalenko.name

Smoke for http://review.gluster.org/15587 fails with no visible reason for me:

https://build.gluster.org/job/smoke/30951/console

I've asked misc to check that and he told me that probably something
dbench-related failed.

All the regression tests are passed. I've also rebased the patch on top of
latest master code and re-checked smoke several times with no luck.

Please check this. I want to be sure this is not patch issue.

This bug is getting closed because a release has been made available that
should address the reported issue. In case the problem is still not fixed with
glusterfs-3.8.0, please open a new bug report.

glusterfs-3.8.0 has been announced on the Gluster mailinglists [1], packages
for several distributions should become available in the near future. Keep an
eye on the Gluster Users mailinglist [2] and the update infrastructure for your
distribution.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1348071] New: Change backup process so we only backups in a specific pattern

2016-06-19 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1348071

Bug ID: 1348071
Summary: Change backup process so we only backups in a specific
pattern
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: nig...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

I don't think we need ALL the backups.

* Last 7 days.
* Weekly backups for 4 weeks.
* Monthly backups for 12 months.

This should reduce our backup size significantly. More backups do not
necessarily make it more useful.

Turns out after reboot, you need to disconnect the node from Jenkins and

While I suspect chroot are fine to build rpms, there is some case where the
kernel might matter when building, such as

So opening a bug to track that;

So slave25 is the same, but not slave29. I didn't found yet any relevent
difference. It also work when run from my laptop and nigel one (the ansible
playbook, that's it). I strongly suspect a issue on the salt bus.

2017-02-08 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1416953

@Nigel, thanks. Was able to test drive this today and submitted a change to
check issue # reference (https://gerrit-stage.rht.gluster.org/#/c/16439/ ).

The problem though is, it needs the regression flags and other such before I
can submit this to see the issue getting auto updated in github.

So,

- Can we turn off these extra flags for this repository?
- How can I edit/create a workerant for this repo in gerrit, that reports
updates to issues, like the WorkerAnt updates to bugzila on our main repo?

I understand that you have given me admin privs, but unable to see where the
above activities occur from the gerrit admin interface, I am obviously missing
something or looking in the wrong place. Request some assistance.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1418369] New: Need way to revert commits or mark tests bad without testing

2017-02-01 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1418369

Bug ID: 1418369
Summary: Need way to revert commits or mark tests bad without
testing
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: jda...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

As discussed in today's community meeting, we need a way to "dig ourselves out
of the hole" quickly when work is blocked by sporadically failing tests.
Specifically, there should be a way to exempt patches from testing which (a)
revert a previous commit or (b) mark a test as bad. Gerrit has permissions
that allow specified users to bypass tests by pushing to refs/heads/xxx instead
of refs/for/xxx. This permission should be enabled for project architects (and
probably not for others). If we can further extend or limit this ability by
recognizing reverts and test markings for what they are, that's great but not
immediately necessary.

needs to have a public IP and a good amount of storage space. Given that most
of our tests run on Rackspace, I'm tempted to host it there.

I'm guessing all it needs is an apache server and ssh keys that will let it
talk to all the test nodes.
