https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1389791 M. Schererchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |CLOSED CC||msche...@redhat.com Resolution|--- |CURRENTRELEASE Last Closed||2016-11-04 05:01:45 --- Comment #3 from M. Scherer --- So the issue was that we did some change on apache (like various refactoring of the configuration file). This got applied in production and this should have resulted into a apache restart. However, due to https://github.com/ansible/ansible-modules-core/pull/4777 and due to use using a specific transport, the playbook were silently failing at the step "restart httpd", who then , for a unknow reason, was in some weird state. Short term solution: Restart apache. Mid term: we have to wait for ansible 2.2, which got released this week, and/or a backport of the bug fix. Both should happen soon (and automatically), so I suspect Long term, we need to : - lack of reporting on ansible side (which is on my todolist) - lack of monitoring (also on todo list) Both would have permitted a faster turn around. Also, managing to not schedule conferences for me while Nigel is out on PTO would be better, but I can't ask to the organiser, nor I can ask to India to change their dates. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. We possibly need to know where and how, so that facebook folks can track and take action as needed b) Disable per commit regression, smoke runs for this branch. IOW, merge requires +2 CR and +1 Verified, no voting from the regression runs. [Gluster-infra] [Bug 1393466] Request branch creation for FB commits and addition of merge rights for specific users
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1393466 Shyamsundarchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|MODIFIED|NEW --- Comment #3 from Shyamsundar --- FB has now merged 2 patches, so things look good for users kvi...@fb.com and Shreyas Siravara . There has been one more request from FB regarding the regression triggers for this branch as follows, let me know if you need a separate bug filed for tracking this request/change. Regression run trigger changes requested on release-3.8-fb branch: FB would ideally want a continuous integration run on this branch, so that they can keep merging and look back to correct things as the continuous integration reports failure at some point. This to my knowledge requires dedicated machines etc. and also is not what our systems are geared up to do. Hence, requesting if we can possibly satisfy some of the following requests, we will let you know what is preferred once we present the possibility to the FB team (IOW, I need to understand the possibility first and then get an ack from FB if it suits them before implementing the same). 1) Ability to submit without running regressions Can a patch not wait for Verified +1 and also not wait for the regression score, but still be merged. 2) Ability to run regression on some patches, if Verified +1 is marked For some patches, FB folks would like the regression runs, so we need a way by which they can trigger the same (hence trigger on Verified +1 as the request). 3) Worst case if (1) and (2) are not possible, can we turn off regression runs for this branch only? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. [Gluster-infra] [Bug 1406601] VM for Dashboard - UNCC
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1406601 M. Schererchanged: What|Removed |Added Assignee|nig...@redhat.com |msche...@redhat.com --- Comment #3 from M. Scherer --- This bring a bit more questions than it answer. First, I still think we should have discussed before getting to "we need resources". There was no announce nor meetings as far as I know, and we did agreed in the past on being better at transparancy, and this does make feel confident that we take this commitment seriously, and that's rather disenfranchising. Second, who will be responsible for that VM ? Since the requirements cited include a 4G one, so I suspect this is more than just "display static HTML". And if they are using Ubuntu, I suspect also this is not selinux ready or anything (and usually, I am right regarding my expectation). I am not keen on adding something that do not meet minimal security requirement being added under the gluster.org domain, we already have enough historical stuff to not add on it :/ Third, I would veto running a VM in the DC with outsiders of the community having a shell access to it. The current network layout is not prepared for that, and while that's something I want to fix, this is not done yet. And outside of those 3 questions, there is also the question of the access required to do the stats. That's also something that should be discussed before we start to give resources (or start the project), especially since there is privacy implications. There is the question of who will have access to the stats, etc, etc. So there is a bit more stuff that need to be discussed before even discussing the VM. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1408660 Ravishankar Nchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||ravishan...@redhat.com --- Comment #2 from Ravishankar N --- Thanks for the setup Nigel. What is happening is this: When `TEST dd if=/dev/urandom of=$M0/file bs=1024 count=1024` is run with a brick down, on Fedora, CentOS-6 etc, there are only pending data heals because writevs are the only FOPS hitting the file. # getfattr -d -m . -e hex /d/backends/patchy*/file getfattr: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: d/backends/patchy0/file trusted.afr.dirty=0x trusted.afr.patchy-client-1=0x0002 trusted.bit-rot.version=0x02005861074c0007eb8b trusted.gfid=0x14f0e574e9154e36b5158176582de68d But when the same test is run on CentOS7, there is also a removexattr FOP coming: afr_removexattr (frame=0x7f61e00163cc, this=0x7f61e800b8a0, loc=0x7f61dc03a33c, name=0x7f61dc02b760 "security.ima", xdata=0x7f61e001310c) at afr-inode-write.c:1827 Since a brick is down, the dirty is set in the pre-op, and since security.ima is not there in the brick, the cbk gets a op-ret -1 and errono=ENODATA. This is treated as a symmetric error the FOP is treated as success and dirty is not unset. Thus we have: [root@centos-7-test glusterfs]# g /d/backends/patchy*/file getfattr: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: d/backends/patchy0/file trusted.afr.dirty=0x0001 <--- This is not cleared. trusted.afr.patchy-client-1=0x0002 trusted.bit-rot.version=0x02005861074c0007eb8b trusted.gfid=0x14f0e574e9154e36b5158176582de68d Now when both bricks are up, metadata self-heal happens and updates the ctimes on the bricks as a part of undo-pending. Since this is done in a for loop, the 2nd brick will have latest ctime. This breaks the assumption in the .t that the 1st brick has the latest ctime (which would have been the case had it not been for the removexattr FOP), resulting in a heal in the opposite direction, hence failing the md5sum comparison check in the .t I will fix the .t to note ctime of both bricks from the back end and then pick up the one with the latest ctime as source.
