I'd say 1G RAM, 1 CPU and 10G of disk space sounds good.

Ah, you most likely don't need a machine. This was a problem because rpc.statd
wasn't running on slave25. I've fixed that up now. If you retry your job, it
should work.

So the VM is installed, on myrmicinae, with the IP 192.168.122.188. The name is
bugziller, and this is already in ansible, so you can go ahead and push
playbooks/roles (since that's not in prod, feel free to just push, we can
correct later).

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1435254] New: arbiter-mount.t is nuking everyone's regression tests

2017-03-23 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1435254

Bug ID: 1435254
Summary: arbiter-mount.t is nuking everyone's regression tests
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: j...@pl.atyp.us
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

All of these seem to have failed spuriously because of rpc.statd not running.
Also, all of the ones I've looked at seemed to be on slave25.

https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3727/console (tier)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3728/console (glusterd)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3732/console (glusterd)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3732/console (readdir-ahead)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3734/console (readdir-ahead)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3735/console (afr)
https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/3736/console (glusterd)

So, is it an infrastructure issue, or related to the recent Ganesha mega-patch?
That's not clear. Assigning to infra initially because I can test that
hypothesis by disabling slave25 so the next test will run somewhere else. If
it fails there too, it's more likely to be an nfs issue.

Sure, we can do that. So i would recommend 4G of ram,

For the disk, it seems to be around 120G for /d, which old all the build, with
right now 60G of disk being used, so let's make it 100G for the data partition
and 10G for the system partition.

And for CPU, we have 1 CPU, I do not think we need more than that.

Would it be ok ?

We would need at minima 1g of ram and 1 CPU, for a centos 7 host, and I guess
8G of disk space. Would it be sufficient ?

2017-03-27 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1435093

Nigel, you can take this machine back. The test case passed now, without using
this machine. If I need a machine for the same issue in the future, will reopen
the bug.

1) The link substitution will work for all mentions of #n or
something/something#n. I may not be catching all the cases of something in the
regex, but I should catch the practical ones for us. I does not force you to
write Fixes: #n or Updates: #n. That can be enforced separately
(git-branch-and-bug job?)

2) This is now done. See https://review.gluster.org/#/c/16901/

3) I've copied the config over to glustefs-specs too.

4) I don't think this is the right layer to enforce it. This is just doing a
regex match and linking for convenience. Can't do much enforcing here.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1434234] New: [gerrit] rearranging flags at default dashboard in the sequence - S, V, NR, CR and RV

2017-03-20 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1434234

Bug ID: 1434234
Summary: [gerrit] rearranging flags at default dashboard in the
sequence - S, V, NR, CR and RV
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: mchan...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

Description of problem:
Flags at the default dashboard seem randomly arranged.

Expected results:
Rearranging the flags at the default dashboard would help show progression of
activities from left to right. So the flags could be rearranged from left to
right as: S (smoke), V (verified), NR (netbsd-regression), CR
(centos-regression) and RV (code-review). Having CR for code-review as well
causes confusion.

kind of permission problem affecting all machines.

I was having problems with jobs for 16905 hanging, but it seems like a bit of
an unlikely coincidence that those would exactly account for the multiple
machines observing this issue. Also, it's still not clear how that cause would
lead to that effect). Until we figure out how they're connected, should we
perhaps be more liberal about rebooting machines automatically after
failed/aborted runs?

2017-03-15 Thread bugzilla

> Shyam, take a look at this when you get some time ->
> https://review.gluster.org/#/c/16901/ (It's a draft and you're CC'd. Need to
> be logged in to see)

Checked the above and here are some questions:

1) We want the commit message to read "Fixes: #n" OR "Fixes:
gluster/glusterfs#n" OR "Updates: #n" OR "Updates: gluster/gusterfs#n". Will
the link substitution work for all of the above?

2) When a repo name is not mentioned in the commit message when referencing an
issue # (for example: "Updates: #n") the default is gluster/glusterfs is the
thought.
I understand that later, some other repositories that end up using the same
scheme, will have trouble if so, but we want this as the default for the
glusterfs repo, so this is a repo specific default, IOW, a commit against repo
with no repo reference in the issue #, automatically becomes a link to
an issue against that repo

3) Just stating, we will not reference any issue in gluster-specs, we will
submit patches to specs that refer to issues in glusterfs repo, like "Updates:
gluster/glusterfs#n"

4) I think we should also enforce (if this is the right layer to do it), that
either a Fixes/Updates keyword is present before the issue reference.

As this doesn't fall under a major fix in v0.1 we would like to go with the
release 2 of 0.1 version.

I got an opportunity to raise your thought with block team yesterday and the
team think this should be pushed as v0.1-2.

Thanks!

okay so we currently have:
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/gluster-block/0.1/

The new release will be:
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/gluster-block/0.1-2/

Would it make sense instead to do 0.1.1 instead? This way you can use the
dashed numbers as numbers for the build in case there are build failures on
your first attempt.

Happy to go with 0.1-2 as well. Let me know which works best.

So if you see the package name here [1] it is gluster-block-0.1-1.x86_64.rpm

The new package name will be gluster-block-0.1-2.x86_64.rpm

So ideally, the new path should be
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/gluster-block/0.1-2/

Thoughts ?

Why should this be under different directory? I would say we put new rpms under
0.1 directory itself i.e,
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/gluster-block/0.1/fedora/25/x86_64/

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1440805] Update rfc.sh to check Change-Id consistency for backports

2017-04-10 Thread bugzilla

COMMIT: https://review.gluster.org/17030 committed in release-3.10 by

--
commit 226c841bad19d0348acba22808cc65853c2b15ea
Author: Shyam <srang...@redhat.com>
Date: Wed Apr 5 14:22:57 2017 -0400

scripts: Update rfc.sh to check existance of Change-Id in backports

Addition to this script is a no-op on master.

This would need to be backported to active release branches to be
effective.

This check is not smart proof, in that someone could proceed knowing
that the Change-Id differs from master, but this is not expected to
catch that, instead it is to serve more as a reminder that we need
the same Change-Id across branches.

Contributors not using rfc.sh would not see this, but they are few
and possibly far in between. Also contributors using gerrit to
cherry-pick changes will not see this. For both cases a server side
solution to catch any changes are needed.

There is a possiblilty that we will follow this up with a check
on the gerrit end and add a comment to the reviews, to aid reviewers
to quickly check the sanity of the Change-Id when it differs.

The initial change to enforce/remind contributors to this requirement is to
update rfc.sh. The commit in comment #2 is towards the same.

Once that is approved, I will possibly move this bug to the infra queue, for a
Jenkins job that can post a comment to non-master commits when the Change-Id is
not found in master.

The latter is to serve as a checkpoint for reviewers so that this aspect is not
missed.

The blocks is incorrect, as this bug continues for the Jenkins (or other)
server side checks and will get closed only when that is done, whereas the 3.10
and 3.8 bugs filed for this are just for the rfc.sh change. As a result the
blocking relationship does not arise IMO

2017-04-11 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1441183

Bug ID: 1441183
   Summary: backups.gluster.org offline
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: nig...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

The backup server has been offline for some time. I'm wondering if it's worth
resetting it entirely and bringing up a new machine with a good strategy to
figure out what needs to be backed up and having the backups set in Ansible (if
it isn't already)

At some point, we should establish the process of restoring something from
backup and test it regularly. For example, restoring Jenkins from backup is
going to need some documentation to get right. Perhaps it's even worth
automating a prod -> staging push every week so we can test things better.

Looks like SSH requests don't hit Gerrit at all. Restarting xinetd seems to
have fixed the problem. I'll leave this bug open for post-mortem.

The technical capability is now done. There's a team called gluster-plumbers
who have permission to push to any branch directly. It has Vijay, Jeff, and
Shyam. As far as infra is concerned this is fixed. If the policy dictates
changes to this, please file a bug.

Looks like we got hit with a lot of lot of requests, which caused xinetd to
throw a denial of service. We may need to work on banned spam users properly.

As far as I can see build.gluster.org could successfully connect the entire
time.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1395212] move static analysis to cage and create voting tests in gerrit

2017-04-17 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1395212

First set of changes to run the staticanalysis builds on the cage
infrastructure:
https://github.com/gluster/gluster.org_ansible_configuration/pull/14

I've got a job to run cppcheck on a nightly basis for master at the moment:
https://build.gluster.org/job/cppcheck/

Step 1: Get a Jenkins job for everything.
Step 2: Step up analysis.rht.gluster.org ready for serving the static files.
Step 3: Use Jenkins-based automation to move the logs into
staticanalysis.rht.gluster.org

That's stage 1, so we're using the current workflow but automated with jenkins.

We'll figure out what stage 2 looks like in the future when things settle down,
whether it's double compilation or analyzing increase vs decrease of the
number.

 Component: project-infrastructure

The jenkins-stage machine could use an extra disk mounted at /var/lib/jenkins.
That's the bit that would use up all the space anyway on the disk. 100G to
start with would be good.

Done, see:

https://github.com/gluster/gluster.org_ansible_configuration/commit/46fa914013f4b1f686038a000849dff2a9cf49aa

I am however unsatisfied by the current way I did, so it may not be the perfect
example of integration I was looking for, and may refactor that later.

We need to move data from current partition to the new one, I will see on irc
with Nigel (just a cp)
