Approved.
Also, we need a process for this, but this works for being able to have
maintainers choose their own peers to assist them.

2017-03-14 Thread bugzilla

Bug ID: 1432034

   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Keywords: Triaged
  Severity: low
  Priority: low
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org

Patches like https://review.gluster.org/16897 should get their Fixes: keyword
linked to https://github.com/gluster/gluster-block/issues/

This has already been proposed for the glusterfs project in Gerrit, this would
look similar for gluster-block.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1431199] New: Request to automate closing github PRs

2017-03-10 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1431199

Bug ID: 1431199
Summary: Request to automate closing github PRs
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Priority: medium
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: srang...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

This request is discussed here:
http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/maintainers/2017-March/002325.html

We do not accept github PRs as our work flow is gerrit based.

To educate contributors, one of the things we could do is to put up a
template as in [1] for the PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE. It will look like this
[2] when users attempt to submit PRs.

An alternate idea suggested by Nigel was to accept PRs, but use a
Jenkins job to auto close the same, with some generic (or very specific)
instructions on how to submit it to our gerrit instance.

The advantage of the latter method is that we do not lose the code
change suggested, and we can still evaluate the same and reach out to
the contributor and also possibly get the change into our gerrit instance.

The latter approach looks good, and we would like to have this inplemented.
This bug is being raised for the same.

Also, this is not an urgent requirement, this can happen in the next month or
beyond, as this does not change anything major for us at the moment.

[1] PR template:
https://review.gluster.org/#/c/16618/1/.github/PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE

Because we now get into a mix of numbers pointing to either Bugzilla or GitHub,
I suggest to have the "BUG: 012345" replaced by URLs. The same approach needs
to be done for GitHub issues. For someone reading the commit messages, a single
well known source for bug reports and RFEs is easy, when we have two it will
become confusing for many.

If replacing the "BUG: .." is tricky, it may be easier to add a "Reported-on:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1428032; and "Reported-on:
https://github.com/;. matching the existing scheme for "Reviewed-on:".

--- Comment #4 from Shyamsundar <srang...@redhat.com> ---
(In reply to Nigel Babu from comment #1)
> glusterfs/glusterfs-specs are the only repos that will have any work done.

Yes, agreed, glusterdocs is not via gerrit, and github will take care of the
mention for us.

> The problem here is to remove duplication. We currently push to bugzilla
> every time a patchset is created.

For features there will be no bug in the commit message, it will be of the rfc
type, so if I read your comment here right, WorkerAnt will automagically hence
post to Bugzilla or to github only and not to both, right? So the duplication
problem does not exist? (or are you referring to the duplication issue as
discussed in the next para by you, in which case, disregard this comment)

>
> For a large change, there may be multiple pushes that will create noise if
> we add comment on every patchset. This needs to be fixed for Bugzilla *as
> well*. Once that's sorted, we'll make the change for Github.

Sigh! yes this is true and to some extent I agree that it is noise as well
(hence the sigh).

At the same time this repetitive posting also (sometimes) helps (maybe), that
there is a new change that you may want to look at when following the bug (or
in this case the issue).

>
> Does this sound acceptable?

I would like to treat the noise and posting to github issues separately, as I
would like the github issue posting to appear sooner, but that assumes I know
how much effort it would take to do both. Does this answer your question on
acceptability.

I will also send in a mail with the various requests that have been made of the
infra team with some form of priority to them, just so we are on the same page.

(apologies if this is causing confusion at present)

>
> glusterdocs is handled entirely in Github. If you mention an issue in the
> pull request, it will do the linking already.

Yes, agreed.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1428047] New: Require a Jenkins job to validate Change-ID on commits to branches in glusterfs repository

2017-03-01 Thread bugzilla

Bug ID: 1428047

   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: nig...@redhat.com
  Reporter: srang...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

If this[1] proposal goes through, then we would require a Jenkins job that does
what is detailed in the mail. I.e,

- On non-master branches, validate if provided gerrit "Change-ID" is part of
master or not,
  - If yes, then post a message on the commit stating the same
  - If not, then post a warning on the commit

- This job need not vote, as there maybe cases where this needs to be
overridden, say for changes specific to that branch (like release notes for
example)

Gluster intends to move to github to track features being delivered against the
code base.

Read the announcement here:
http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-devel/2017-February/052203.html

Specifics of the github process here: https://hackmd.io/s/BkgH8sdtg#

Towards the above the following change is requested:

Like gerrit provides in the BUG value a link to bugzilla, is it possible to
provide a link to an github issue when that is referenced in the commit
message? That would be quite nice, instead of having to form the URL every time

Example from the go gerrit site:
https://go-review.googlesource.com/#/c/37148/

glusterfs/glusterfs-specs are the only repos that will have any work done. The
problem here is to remove duplication. We currently push to bugzilla every time
a patchset is created.

For a large change, there may be multiple pushes that will create noise if we
add comment on every patchset. This needs to be fixed for Bugzilla *as well*.
Once that's sorted, we'll make the change for Github.

Does this sound acceptable?

glusterdocs is handled entirely in Github. If you mention an issue in the pull
request, it will do the linking already.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1439706] New: Change default name in gerrit patch

2017-04-06 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1439706

Bug ID: 1439706
Summary: Change default name in gerrit patch
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: sarum...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org

Description of problem:

IMHO, We should remove this default name "Anonymous Coward".

There are people who wish to remain Anonymous and not wish to reveal their name
during contribution.

First time contributor don't want to see their name like this :( just because
they avoided github naming convention.

Suggestions is to use patch owner name directly or anything else.

Hello,

Can we have a Jenkins staging box? I'd say just needs about as much capacity as
gerrit stage. Unless that's too much. Let's go with Centos 7. I'll be testing
migration to Centos 7 + Upgrade to the latest version on the staging server.

If you hit password reset on the suse build system end, it will send an email.
We don't want our account reset emails to hit an archived mailing list. It's a
real nice attack vector.

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1480507] tests: Pre-requisite setup to run geo-rep test case on regression machines.

Kotresh,

I suggest skip gsec_create and push-pem steps from the geo-rep tests.

- Run gsec_create command as part of setup and store all the files outside the
build setup(May be in /root/data/georep_keys/)
- Add the common_secret.pem.pub content to same node authorized_keys file.

Every Geo-rep test will copy secret.*.pem files to
$BUILD/var/lib/glusterd/geo-replication/ and create session without `push-pem`.

No, I rather try to figure what was wrong, and why it was working before.
And if that was never working, why it wasn't detected sooner.

So far, I did found some quoting issue (and pushed a fix), but this was likely
present since more than 1 year.

Were the test disabled since that time ?

Also, the key to connect is /root/.ssh/id_georep , you can use it for the test.
I did make sure this is properly limited to localhost, to avoid various
security issue.

And the reason this is done like this is because the tests were not cleaning up
the old root key when they broke (or when it did block the system), which in
turn did cause trouble to connect as root after a while, IIRC (cause there is a
limit, if only computational to the number of key you can place in
authorized_keys).

We did manage last time to avoid breakage since we were using salt, but now we
use ansible, any sshd breakage would be much more annoying to fix.

Ok so no, that still do not answer the question.

What are the name of the people who are gonna be deploying and maintaining that
?

I didn't found any list telling who is maintaining the current web infra.

The cominfra team do take care of the static builder, of the underlying OS on
the web server, sure. You seems to be the one doing and dealing with the git
repository and content.

But who is dealing with wordpress is not written anywhere AFAIK.

However, what was written in several mails, and said in several meeting is that
that my team wasn't willing to take care of Wordpress (to which usually is
answered "sure, we can do it ourself")

So again, what is the plan, what is gonna happen in 1 month time regarding the
switch (as I assume there is a plan) ?

Since it was decided to host it on supercolony (cf comment #4) without our
input, I would like to point out that it would have been nice to ask to the
infra team about it instead of just dropping from above as usual. We want to
get ride of that server, that's still EL 6, so I think it would be a better
option to move to a new VM in EL 7.

Then the team in charge of setting it up can take care of the setup, we will
provides apache and a database on the postgres server (so we can have automated
backup).

This seems to be because the disk ran out of space. A large tar for log files
by the release-3.8-fb branch seems to be eating up all the space. I've cleared
it up and send a note to Jeff.

8G should be enough for the system, what is taking all the space ?

wouldn't it be better to mount a specific partition for that ?

We do have disk space in lvm, so it can be done without reinstalling the VM,
but I would prefer know if we can get a better solution than increase / (purely
to ease automation)

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1469099] New: certificate for review.gluster.org expired, and Firefox does not allow adding it as exception

2017-07-10 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1469099

Bug ID: 1469099
Summary: certificate for review.gluster.org expired, and
Firefox does not allow adding it as exception
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: mainline
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Keywords: Security, Triaged
  Severity: urgent
  Priority: urgent
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: nde...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org,
msche...@redhat.com, nig...@redhat.com

When accessing https://review.gluster.org , I get the following warning from
Firefox:

---
Your connection is not secure

The owner of review.gluster.org has configured their website improperly. To
protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this
website.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox
may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an
exception for this certificate.
---

The "more info" link shows this:

---
review.gluster.org uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on July 10, 2017 at 1:07 PM. The current time is July
10, 2017 at 2:03 PM.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE
---

Not being able to access Gerrit makes it (almost) impossible to do reviews of
posted changes. This is a critical service for the Gluster project.

   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: 3.12
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Keywords: Triaged
  Severity: high
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: srang...@redhat.com
CC: b...@gluster.org, gluster-infra@gluster.org,
kaus...@redhat.com, msche...@redhat.com,
nig...@redhat.com

Request addition of gerrit dashboard for 3.12 as the release has been branched
(announcement in progress, hence no link to provide as of now).

Possibly this would be the final link for that dashboard:
https://review.gluster.org/#/projects/glusterfs,dashboards/dashboard:3-12-dashboard

Also, if not automatically done, this should appear in the list of dashboards
here: https://review.gluster.org/#/admin/projects/glusterfs,dashboards

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1473834] New: Restrict gerrit merge permissions for branch release-3.12 to release owners

2017-07-21 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1473834

Bug ID: 1473834
Summary: Restrict gerrit merge permissions for branch
release-3.12 to release owners
   Product: GlusterFS
   Version: 3.12
 Component: project-infrastructure
  Keywords: Triaged
  Assignee: b...@gluster.org
  Reporter: srang...@redhat.com
CC: a...@redhat.com, b...@gluster.org,
gluster-infra@gluster.org, kaus...@redhat.com,
msche...@redhat.com, nig...@redhat.com,
vbel...@redhat.com

As a part of the release owner responsibility, only release owners should have
merge rights on the release branch that they manage.

Request that for the just created release-3.12 branch, this be restricted to
the following people,

  - jthot...@redhat.com
  - srang...@redhat.com

(I think you need github IDs instead of these mail IDs, if so let me know)

Further, in case approvals are needed, @amye and @vbellur are CC'ed to this
bug.

All maintainers who have access to the glusterfs repo have been granted commit

If you're here because you don't seem to have commit access, please comment

So this was easy:

ansible -i hosts -m shell -a 'lvresize /dev/mapper/vg_root_*-root -L +10G -r'

That's likely enough, I can't add more without reinstalling (which is easy
enough too)

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1470285] Beta.Gluster.org IP address

2017-07-12 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1470285

The website team was asking for the wrong thing, so let me clarify.
Age of Peers, who created Ceph.com has a WordPress website in preview that will
need to be hosted on our current infrastructure.
This will take over for the main page of gluster.org and blog.gluster.org, they
will no longer be separate installs.

What we need is a way to be able to have a beta.gluster.org address available
to be able to point to their staging server so that we can access this.
In about 3-4 weeks time, we'll need to do a full launch for gluster.org, but we
need beta first to be able to stage content.

glusterfs-ow...@fedoraproject.org is subscribed to the packag...@gluster.org

all package maintainers are subscribed directly.

Distributions are strongly encouraged to update their glusterfs packages when
an update is released :)

Anoop is also a (new) maintainer and peer for some components in glusterfs. He
should stay subscribed to the maintain...@gluster.org list. See

[Gluster-infra] [Bug 1440810] Update rfc.sh to check Change-Id consistency for backports

2017-04-29 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1440810

--- Comment #2 from Worker Ant <bugzilla-...@gluster.org> ---
COMMIT: https://review.gluster.org/17031 committed in release-3.8 by Niels de
Vos (nde...@redhat.com)
--
commit ddf3d4d3785bbd4f964e54ebc72fd445662f21a5
Author: Shyam <srang...@redhat.com>
Date: Wed Apr 5 14:22:57 2017 -0400

scripts: Update rfc.sh to check existance of Change-Id in backports

Addition to this script is a no-op on master.

This would need to be backported to active release branches to be
effective.

This check is not smart proof, in that someone could proceed knowing
that the Change-Id differs from master, but this is not expected to
catch that, instead it is to serve more as a reminder that we need
the same Change-Id across branches.

Contributors not using rfc.sh would not see this, but they are few
and possibly far in between. Also contributors using gerrit to
cherry-pick changes will not see this. For both cases a server side
solution to catch any changes are needed.

There is a possiblilty that we will follow this up with a check
on the gerrit end and add a comment to the reviews, to aid reviewers
to quickly check the sanity of the Change-Id when it differs.
