There is also a ton of errors: 
Sep 22 12:59:19 supercolony postfix/smtp[28860]: certificate verification
failed for aspmx.l.google.com[74.125.69.27]:25: untrusted issuer
/C=US/O=Equifax/OU=Equifax Secure Certificate Authority


But the problem seems to be linked to rsyslog, I removed the logs export and
now, everything is faster.

Description of problem:

Not sure why, but supercolony seems to take a long time to let me connect with
ssh since a few days. I did look and can't see anything overly wrong.

Munin show some mail activity, but this should result into slowdown for login.

Looking at postfix log, it seems to not do g suspicious (even if we have
postgrey message, so I did restart postgrey). I see nothing weird either on
mailman log, no specific acitivty on I/O, network, or CPU.

As far as I can see, we have more than a redirection problem. When I visit
http://blog.gluster.org/2013/09/git-reincarnating-remote-master-branch-so-you-can-easily-pr-to-upstream/
I'm greeted with a WPEngine error. This is most likely because our domain
points to glsuter.wpengine.com, but isn't added to wpengine itself as a domain
that it should accept.

Is this intended? Do we plan to have blog.gluster.org added as a domain on the
wpengine install and then go to
gluster.org/2013/09/git-reincarnating-remote-master-branch-so-you-can-easily-pr-to-upstream/
?

If this is not intended, should blog.gluster.org/$foo redirect to
gluster.org/$foo?

We currently use type: absolute for timeout (see
http://git.gluster.org/cgit/build-jobs.git/tree/build-gluster-org/jobs/centos6-regression.yml#n60)

There's a type: no-activity which will abort after no activity for the timeout
defined. If we set that to 900 (15 mins), it should potentially work.

Description of problem:
Sometimes regression jobs hang earlier than 360 minutes.
Sometimes the regressions just run slower.

Expected results:
It would help to abort regression jobs earlier than 360 minutes and reboot the
node to make way for other jobs if there has been 15 minutes of inactivity on
the STDOUT.

This will help to abort hung jobs earlier than wasting time.
For slow running regression jobs, this would help to continue and complete the
regression run than aborting the job and running it again for 360 minutes.

After this test run, the centos node was left with a lot of long-running
gluster processes:

I've pkilled all the processes, rebooted the node and put it back in the pool.
It should be back to normal now.

So slave27 issue was different. I did had to wipe the /home/jenkins/root to
make it work again for some reason. I looked on the rpm content, no issue, no
issue with selinux, no disk full. I am a bit puzzled.

So I reenabled slave27, I rebooted slave25. I guess I will try to dig a bit

I think these can be worked in parallel. Let's test Michael's solution for the
redirect issue. For who and how, unfortunately we don't yet have in place rules
of engagement around the WordPress instance.

I'll start an email to discuss admin on the WP instance.

In the other ticket we can resolve who tests what, where, and get that whole
thing taken care of.

For security concerns, it seems prudent to take care of them ASAP, also
considering that Michael's involvement in the other bug is lightweight in
providing us regexp solutions to test. Would you be OK with working these in
parallel?

I don't know how we can test the redirect on staging not having set it all up,
it just seemed like a better idea than testing on production.

That said, we can do was we did previously -- test the regexp on production,
and revert if it doesn't work, then return to Michael for more help if there is
a problem with his regexp.

Do you want me to run this test? We don't have 'rules of engagement' around the
WordPress instance, so I'm not doing anything without coordination first.

At this point, it's the biggest issues we have on the website. Karsten, go
ahead and test it in the WP site and we'll see if that cuts down the level of
404s we're getting.

OK, I put in the regexp and it seems to be working. The test case from above:

redirects to:

No 404 error.

Also, nothing else seems to be broken more than it was before. :) I.e.

Description of problem:
Change https://review.gluster.org/#/c/18485/ posted for fixing the errors in
hooks scripts reported with Shellcheck utility failed to run regressions
successfully on CentOS machines. Following test case failed in consecutive
runs:

tests/basic/afr/split-brain-resolution.t

However it ran successfully on my local system (Fedora 26). So requesting a
CentOS machine to root cause the issue.

We already have a proxy, but I would rather first complete the work to have it
in HA (which is not hard until you realize that letsencrypt is hard to set in
cluster).

When would be a better time for this? We're looking at a release late this
week/early next week so ideally we'll plan around that as well. 

I know that we may also need to look at the Let's Encrypt certificate, WPEngine
supports Let's Encrypt. It's my preference to deprecate blog.gluster.org as a
domain name and just use www.g.o as we may not be able to have a wildcard SSL
cert on this.

We are trying to collect new data from your download files but there aren't new
apache logs since
more than a month.

Until now, we have been collecting your apache logs from a server called
download.gluster.org
The path where these logs are usually stored is /srv/bitergia/logs/httpd/

I've checked today and these are the latest log files we can see on that path:

I remember there was an issue similar to this one on June. In that case, the
error was due to the disk
was full but I don't know if that's the case this time.

This is critical because it is not allowing us to keep data for "Downloads" up
to date on your dashboard

Disk is full again. I need to investigate why it grow so much and why the
cleanup do not clean the old log. I have added 2G as it should be sufficient
for now. The cronjob tonight will make the new data appear.

It also seems that the logs files have grown a lot (there is a lot of 2G file,
and some 640m file). I suspect that the server was somehow overloaded and the
cleanup jobs didn't cleaned correctly everything for some reasons.

I have improved/fixed the cleanup script (
https://github.com/gluster/gluster.org_ansible_configuration/commit/2355f453429012621855b5995667e214b79898c8
). 

Now, it will automatically recompress files that were wrongfully compressed
(due to disk being full, OOM errors, etc) and so the problem should fix itself
now (instead of seeing the issue persist). I can still imagine some concurrency
(like if the server do crash hard at the exact wrong moment and the wrong day),
but we are not gonna get a better system without significant time spent on it. 

I did a manual cleanup a few files, and watched.

I may need to later change the partition layout (since we are down at 30G of
logs, with 30G of free space for partition ) but since that's xfs, it can't be
done online.

For what I see, the files are all here, so closing.

So without vhost change on wpengine side, we have to do it on the http level,
and that's basically a redirection on supercolony, as being asked.

So to be clear, you want the integrality of the requests coming to
www.gluster.org and blog.gluster.org to be redirected to gluster.wpengine.com ?

If you want sometime more fine grained, please tell me the mapping you want and
I will add it to the long list we already have. 

We can also do a reverse proxy, but the current reverse proxy setup is not
production ready and I was hoping to work on it (e.g., reinstall it at will) in
the coming weeks. I can do something hackish on supercolony, but since that's a
EL6 host, we didn't test the automation there and it may break in interesting
way so I would rather avoid that.

So tell me which options:
- redirect, fast, easy, less fragile and easy to revert if things go wrong, but
the urls will change

- proxy, no url change, more flexibility around, but may not work since that
wasn't tested with that setup (and more fragile for now)

Due to urgency of the request, I will use the option "redirect" if I didn't
heard otherwise by noon CEST ( 6 a.m. EST, 3 a.m. PDT )

This bug is getting closed because a release has been made available that
should address the reported issue. In case the problem is still not fixed with
glusterfs-3.12.0, please open a new bug report.

glusterfs-3.12.0 has been announced on the Gluster mailinglists [1], packages
for several distributions should become available in the near future. Keep an
eye on the Gluster Users mailinglist [2] and the update infrastructure for your
distribution.

Keeps getting closed each time we make a release :)

Re-opening this, a Jenkins job to detect Change-ID anomolies would ease any
discrepencies for reviewers and release-owners when merging changes, to
understand and possibly educate on the need.

The intention here was to reduce the load on Gerrit servers. We should do the
following to fix this up:

* Remove Giturl from the config so it's not advertised over the UI
* Setup a read-only replica of git repos on Gerrit for CI to consume.
* Get that to serve over HTTPS for CI system to clone.

The git clone is actively used by the CI system because it doesn't place load
on Gerrit itself.

We already have a reverse proxy in front of gerrit, so we can (maybe with lots
of hack in the automation) do some magic to bypass gerrit for a specific url
and/or vhost.

(as I was under the impression that gerrit was doing a git gc by itself)

Description of problem:

I've two tests - smoke and centos regression [1][2]- that were aborted due to
deadlock in Glusterfs processes. However, output from console doesn't give
either backtrace or core of the process aborted. It would be helpful if we can
get cores.

That gets complicated but not impossible.

I don't think so, that would require guessing what process hangs. You probably
need to capture the stack+core from all gluster processes.

There's an automatic GC run every Sunday. A git clone takes about 30 seconds on
my machine limited only by network speed.

git.gluster.org is a CNAME to review.gluster.org. On ssh, it should do the same
thing. On HTTP(S), it points to cgit.

It is recommended to sign a tag with a gpg key. In that case, "git tag -s ..."

Alright, so this is now even more broken than we had it before.
I'll go ahead and remove the redirects that were put in place, and will await
further instruction on this. 

Timeline for fix: sometime this week if possible? 

I'm not sure how this worked in the first place, and it may be that the WP
install is trying to eat all the things.

Blog posts from blog.gluster.org don't have a redirect setup and old links are
getting 404'd.
